Spoodles at the BoardWalk???

Unfortunately it'll be a few years at least, until I get to go back to wdw at all. But I'm curious: anyone have a current menu? There's one thing in particular that I'm wondering about ;)

Once again Thank you so much for all your comments, I listen to you guys and had diner at Spoodles on Sat while staying at the Boardwalk and I love it!!! the food is great!!!!I can't wait to go back.

Oh No!!!! :furious: :furious: :furious:

What :jester: took the Portuguese Seafood Stew off the menu? That was my absolute favorite, and I've been looking forward to it.

Darn it. Disney ruins yet another restaurant.

Is this true? This is terrible. The seafood stew is the main reason I recommend Spoodles. How is this possible? What will I eat there now??

We just got back yesterday from a 10-day trip. Spoodles was the only disappointment of our trip. Most food items ranged from bad to okay. To make it easier, the only items were really enjoyed were the garlic shrimp appetizer - very good flavor and texture to the shrimp; and the creme brulee - best vanilla creme brulee we had. The four cheese flatbread and margherita flatbread appetizers were just "okay". Both of these appetizers lacked flavor. For entrees, I got the lemon-garlic shrimp fettucine and the rest of the family got the steak kabobs. I tried some of DH's garlic shrimp appetizer and loved it and thought it would be the same shrimp for my dinner. Not the case! While I like a hint of lemon flavor, the lemon flavor was overpowering. The steak kabobs were awful. No one like them. Even DH who is eats just about anything, did not even finish his meal! (Which was a first for the whole trip!). The flavor of the steak was terrible and the texture of the meat was tough. The rice that came with it was okay but bland. I would definitely NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was the worst meal of our trip and we won't be going back. Service was not great either. We practically had to beg to get refills on our sodas. My DH asked for steak sauce twice before he finally got it. That was his attempt to make the steak edible!

:confused3 We have ressies for Spoodles this August. It doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be as I was looking at the limited menu. I'm actually thinking of changing our reservatons to eat at the Biergarten. I know those are 2 totally different atmospheres. I remember eating at Biergarten there about 20 yrs. ago and it was very good. Trying to keep everyone happy. It will be me DW, DH, DS15, DS13, and DD5. I would appreciate any input. Thanks. :cloud9:

What did you order? Maybe I'll just go with what you got :thumbsup2 .

I"m a little bummed at all the bad reviews, we were so looking forward to dining here.

We go to Spoodles every year - it's a family tradition. Took my MIL there for the first time in May and the meal was a real disappointment. The menu had changed, and in our opinion, the quality of the food is way off. Diners were packed together (the rest of the place was empty) and it was even louder than usual. Service was really slow. For the first time in 13 years we're skipping it when we return in September.

Having eaten at both of them, I would recommend the Biergarten over Spoodles. When we ate at Spoodles we only ordered starters and dessert, did not order entrees. We thought everything was very good. I don't think their menu is very kid friendly. Are your kids picky eaters? The Biergarten is buffet so you have alot to choose from. We loved the atmosphere w/ the oompah band. The food was very good. I tried everything on the buffet and there was just one item I didn't care for. Also loved the beer sampler for around $10. I think the atmosphere at Biergarten is more kid friendly. My nieces loved going out and dancing on the dancefloor to the music.

Thanks for the feedback. I love German food but I'm Greek and like all that mediterraean food. Would love to try Spoodles. I would just hate to be disappointed. One of the kids would probably be happier with the buffet at Biergarten. Still deciding. :flower3:

I am so glad that you asked this question:goodvibes , because I had no idea that the menu had changed! I don't even remember what attracted me to Spoodles now, but I am not interested in the menu any longer.:sad2: I am going to be changing my ADR.
