Our first day (and first trip to WDW), I'm planning on us (ME, DH, AND DD5)heading over to MGM for the afternoon parade and then the Osbourne Lights. We will have already had a long day after leaving home for the airport at 3:30 a.m., and plan on arriving at the BCV around 12:30 to check in. How close / how long of a walk to Spoodles from MGM? Right now I have ADRs for 5:00, thinking we would see the parade and then walk over and have dinner, then walk back to MGM for the Osbourne Lights- but that sounds like too much for me! Should we eat after seeing the lights? What time, 7:00? Or should we forget about Spoodles and eat at a restaurant in MGM? Any help is appreciated!

It's a fairly easy walk from MGM to the Boardwalk. Depending on how fast you walk, it would probably take 15-25 minutes. My wife and I have made it from our room near the BW pool to MGM in 9 minutes, but we were walking fast and it's probably another 5 minutes to Spoodles from the pool area.

I agree with WDW LOVR and I like the walk from the BoardWalk to MGM. However, that sounds like a ruthless day, given you are leaving the airport at 3:30 AM. Even checking in at 12:30, your room may or may not be ready....Either way, if you are tired but still adventureous, why not take the boat from Epcot (close from BCV) to MGM and back. It seems like a 5 to 7 minute walk to spoodles from the Epcot boat area. The whole ordeal may take longer (waiting and loading), but you won't blister your feet the first day there.....

Regards

The only problem with the boat is that BW is the last stop coming from MGM. We usually walk because in most cases, we beat the boat to the BW. If you are tired and do not wish to walk, then take the boat to the Swan/Dolphin, get off there and walk across the bridge to the BW. This will save you about 10 minutes.
Keep in mind that the Osbourne Lights are not turned on until it is dark which is usually around 6:00 PM. You want to allow at least 30 minutes to walk around and enjoy them

Wow what a first day. We had a similiar day last year w/ 3:30 a.m. wake up flight , arriving early pretty much the same as you. We did fine. Just the whole rush of energy will keep you going that first day. Although the 2nd day I was a little tired but what the heck I'm on vacation! Have fun and keep your plans.
