Well I pulled off the miracle. Talked my wife into a quick trip to Disney in October while we are in the middle of building our house. Took about a month with no hope and then suddenly pulled it off. Anyway...Obviously we are late in ADR's and I couldn't get all of my original choices, but still got most of them!!

Need opionions of some new places we are going to that I only ADR'd since they had a few spots left.

Marrakesh: Morrocan theme at AK. Thoughts? Experiences?
Akershus: Norway. Character Dinner. Does the dinner have alot of Princesses visiting the tables as the breakfast? How is the food? THanks!
Yak and Yeti: Forgot the theme, but what are your experiences?

I know that food quality is subjective, but I am not picky as long as we are in DISNEY! But still want to go somewhere my wife will enjoy.

Our only problems with having to make "second, third, fourth
choice ADR's" was at Epcot Friday 10/10 and AK wed. 10/8. What other spots have you gone and loved that might not be the popular spots at Epcot and AK? We want to eat on site or near the monorail for quick transition from the dinner to the park. Le Cellier was booked, De France booked, Mexican place booked, 1900 Park Fair Booked, Ohana Booked, Italia at Epcot booked.

Any insight is much appreciated

Don't know how you feel about character meals, but the Garden Grill at Epcot is one of our favorites. We really enjoy the food, the catfish is amazing! And it's neat to be rotating around the "Living with the Land" boatride. It's neat to take the boatride and see where everything is grown before eating there. Plus, you get some views in the restaurant that you don't get on the boatride. It's always a must do for us, There is a lot of character interaction!

We discovered Marrakesh on a trip in 2002 and make sure to hit it at least once every trip now. We really enjoy it and feel that it is a "hidden Gem" of Epcot. Make sure to eat at a leisurely pace so that you don't miss the entertainment!!

We have only done Norway's meal for breakfast, so I am sorry that I don't know anything about the evening food. There will be plenty of princesses around, but they visit quietly at each table so it isn't really intrusive. If you don't want the princesses stopping by while you are eating you can explain that to your server and he/she will take care of it. The princesses will interact with you as much or as little as you want, though, so even if you have them stop by it really won't interupt your meal for too long. Also, your meal now includes a photo package with the Princess who is greeting all the diners ... a nice little souvinier that is included in the price of your meal.

Haven't had the chance to try Yak&Yeti, so I would love to hear your opinion of it when you return.

We really enjoy Spoodles over at the Boardwalk and Yatchsman Steakhouse at Y&BC ... both easy to get to from the International Gateway of Epcot. Also, The Flying Fish is good, too, at the Boardwalk.

Have a great trip!

We loved Marakesh, my dh loved the belly dancers. We tried Yak & Yet during our May trip this year, It wasn't memorable, just OK. We are giving it one more try in Sept. for lunch. You might want to try the new rest. in Contempory- The Wave. Not many people know about it you might get lucky with a adr.

FWIW - are you sure you want/need a sit down meal for EPCOT on 10/10? You are going in the middle of the Food & Wine Festival and there will be so many interesting food booths set up. Perhaps you will enjoy "grazing" your way around the World Showcase instead of taking time out for a full sit down meal.

Just a thought for you to consider.

Thanks!

I went to the Princess Lunch at Norway in May and it was pretty good....
My DD3 princess: LOOOOOOVED it mostly because of all the princesses.... We were greeted by Belle (Photo Pass Pictures were taken)in the beginning, and during the meal Ariel, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, and by some kind of miracle Cinderella too!!!!!! It was a blast. Lunch was served with a salad bar and then you chose your entree and dessert. They have all kinds of drinks, (you can get alcohol drinks too)....then they bring you the Photopass picture they took at the beginning when you went in in a cute frame. Have fun:tinker:

THanks so much!! I was wondering about the GARDEN GRILL!

Loved to hear how good Marrakesh was.

Love the idea about Food and Wine "grazing". My wife is really looking forward to that experience.

How does the food and wind work?? Is there a ticket? or does it cost cash at each booth??

Thanks!

We ate at Y&Y this past June and loved our entrees. Pics and review are in my June link

We are going to try Marrakesh this Saturday night and I have it booked again for our Oct trip.....when we were in Epcot this past June we looked at the picture menu book at the host desk and the food looked amazing!

We love Marrakesh - it is a must do for us each trip.
It is a beautiful restaurant with warm friendly servers, and good food. Be sure to be there to see the Belly Dancer.
At the Food & Wine festival there are about 25 new countries who have "booths" set up. Each booth offers 1 or 2 food choices from their national cuisine and national beer and wine, as well.
The food choices are about $2 - $5 each. In the past you have been able to use the Disney Dining Plan snack credits.
Have a Good Trip

The only one I can help with is the Norway Princess Dinner. Good news and bad news....the good news is the Princess interaction was great. They all came to the table, my little ones were very pleased. The bad news....the food. It was marginal at best. If your kids are into princesses though, I think it is still worth going. Have fun!

We HATED Marrakesh...it was our worst meal ever in Disney, and definitely would not return. As a note, one thing that seems to have availability and is really good would be Kona Cafe.

You pay at each kiosk. Cash and debit/credit/resort keys are accepted. It's always a good idea to have cash on you, as sometimes the card readers act a bit wonky. All the prices will be listed on each kiosk's menu board. Often there will be two menu boards. One on the "awning" area over the counter, and another free-standing near the entrance queue. (That free-standing one is better, because you don't have to get into line to see the items offered.)

Some booths have a setup where the register will be in line, then they give you a ticket or card to pick up the item at the counter. I like that setup. Most kiosks will take your order and charge you at the counter, though. All kiosks have a clearly marked entry/exit point, with barriers set up for lines.
