We were headed to our beloved Captiva for 7 days at the end of April with family, but they've since backed out and we started wondering if South Seas was the place for us for 7 days (we usually go for 3 or 4). So we decided to cut the trip down to 5-6 days, and they gave us some nonsense about not being able to cancel individual nights because we had gotten a deal for 7 nights, so the room wouldn't be available, the rate would go up, blah, blah, blah....so I cancelled the entire reservation.

We decided this morning, over breakfast, to go back to Disney even though we were there in November and are going back in October! The Flower and Garden is calling, with the new food kiosks we are calling this trip our "dry run" for F&W! (But it probably won't be dry at all!).

First of all, I started a different thread about this a week or so ago, but the point allocations are absurd. Here we are basically 5 weeks out from our trip and I can get Grand Villas all over the place, 1 bedrooms at Boardwalk (including standard for 5 nights if I want), standard at Jambo, Treehouses, etc... I can get a 1 bedroom at VWL for 10 straight nights if I want. The only place I can't get into, of course, is BCV. BUT THE POINTS ARE 20% HIGHER THAN IN OCTOBER WHEN YOU CAN'T GET ANYTHING!?

The points are so high that instead of renting (we blew all our points on our big October trip), we got the 30% deal at BWV. We got a 1 bedroom for $410, tax included. If I rented for $12, it would be the exact same price but this way we get housekeeping every day, which we love (and often pay for), so it's actually cheaper to take the deal.

So we're off to BWV in 5 weeks! Can't wait.

Enjoy! I'll be at BWV from April 20 to 25 with some DGFs! I can't wait to see the F&G show, it's my favorite time of the year! I booked it 11 months out and have 2 sv studios. It's been a long wait! I do agree that the points are high, I would have loved a 2 bedroom for my group, there will be 4 of us. Because of health issues, 2 of us need "real" beds.

We are really excited. So we are going to be there at the same time! I couldn't believe all the availability. Do you think it'll be crowded in general? I would imagine not, it's really after all the school breaks and before the summer crowds....

As an added bonus, we got PAP's last November for our trip thinking it would cover the 2 trips (last november and October upcoming), so now it'll cover 3 trips totaling 25 days! We got our moneys worth on that one. Also, we've never been to either water park so we're going to probably hit both this time since we have the pass!

We've never been for the F&G.

We've never been for the F&G.

After my girlfriends leave, DH is coming down, and that's when we'll finally use the water park option on the DVC annual passes. He and I are moving over to the VWL, since we also like to take bike rides over to FW. We'll also be visiting our family, over near Tampa, going to DGS's baseball game, then they'll be joining us for a night.

The food in the booths looks enticing! I go to the F&G every year, and like to do some of the workshops/seminars over the weekend. I notice they used to have 3 each day in each venue, this year, only 2. If you are interested in a topic, be sure you are there early, the seats with the "make and take" things fill up. I still have 2 plants growing at home from previous years.:flower3: Last year's gardenia plant did bite the dust.:sad2: My favorite one that still is going strong is a banana plant!

I do enjoy the weekend Flower Power Concerts. Way back when, they were daily, now only on weekends.

I've done a special behind the scene tour of the Flower Show one year. It was very interesting, and besides a pin for the tour, we got the poster.

Have fun. PM me while you're there if you want to meet for a poolside "hi" or something!

Not just that, you might get upgraded staying with a cash ressie too:). Have fun.

Really? To a better view if available? Should I ask when I check in or do they just upgrade if there is a better room available?

Anybody know based on past years if end of April will be busy? Judging but he 30% deal, all the DVC availability I'm seeing and all the open ADRs that's is going to be quiet...

We will see you there as we are staying at AKV on the 17th and moving to BWV for the 18th to 25th.

This is our favorite time of the year to be at WDW. The crowds are usually in the moderate range. I think that touring plans has them at a 5 or 6 for our entire time. :thumbsup2

The weather is usually extremely nice with little if any rain.... I hope I didn't just jinx us by saying it.

And as a bonus, the Village People are performing during the weekend we are there. :woohoo:

Enjoy! :yay:
