Spontaneity at WDW Gone

I haven't tried myself for TT or Soarin because, just like with paper FPs, we ride those things in the morning when we don't need FPs. But, there was just a post a few days ago (I think on another thread) in which someone who was complaining about FP+ said that he could get a FP for either TT or Soarin in the morning, but he was upset becuase he couldn't get both.

As for PP, during one of our recent visits, we were looking for FPs at MK around 2 PM and PP was available, but the return time wasn't good for us so we took Space Mountain instead. So, I have no idea how much availablity there is, but it is more frequent than NEVER EVER.

On my last trip, which was Nov 14-21 (not a busy time), I looked on 4 separate mornings to see what Epcot and Magic had first thing in the morning. Epcot never had Soarin or TT and Magic never had PP. So I'm not sure what to tell you.

Only if spontaneous = being able to ride 7dmt any time you want the precise moment you demand it
Or spontaneous = I want a hamburger and ice cream NOW and Beaches and cream is the ONLY place that I can get exactly that.

That sounds more synonymous with the demands of a 2 year old rather than the definition of spontaneous.

Shoot, what if you wanted Starbucks but the like was 10 minutes long? There goes the spontaneity because you cannot have it this instant. *stompy feet*

Who said anything about this instant? Lisa this is why all your credibility went out the door 15 pages ago. You use hyperbole and exaggeration to try and get your points across and it fails each time.

I said people were being turned away from a burger joint. That has nothing to do with this instant, that is for the rest of the night.

And I guess I'm a 2 year old because I don't want to wait 60 minutes for 7D. Lisa, what's your position within the Disney company?

Was this before or after the parks opened?

There have been several reports that have suggested that some FPs are released at park opening to accommodate day guests and others who didn't make FP reservations in advance.

Otherwise, there is nothing else you have to tell me. It's just another example of how different people have different experiences.

Before. And the fact that so many people are having varied experiences with FP+ goes to show that FP+ DOES NOT provide touring spontaneity. If anything, it provides a lot of headaches as people are never sure what to do. Under the last system, it was easy. Wake up, get to the park, grab your tickets (no RUNNER needed) and start riding.

I haven't seen too many people bashing FP+ on this thread. Only one specific feature of it.

FP+ serves a purpose and can be useful. However, nothing is perfect. And where FP+ fails is in the spontaneity of touring. Anyone who can't admit that is biased and I believe has a secret agenda as it's an obvious flaw of the system that shouldn't require 17 pages of threads to hash out.

But you used false logic to make a coy statement that
1) those who can be spontaneous (as you mention here) must be cast members
2) those same folks are not objective like you

Such statements get hashed out in 17 pages for the reason that
1) there are non-cast members who are spontaneous just fine
2) they are offering objective opinions that just happen to differ from yours

As long as you remain insistent that your opinion is the only correct one, folks will counter with their experiences.

You are biased--you just do not realize it.

And as long as you keep up with the charade that people who disagree with you = bias, non-objective cast members

Discussion will continue.

Your opinion does not an absolute fact make.

God forbid someone wanted to switch a day to Epcot last minute. They could enjoy front of line access to the mindblowing Spaceship Earth, the take your breath away Captain EO spectacular, and the ever popular Nemo & Friends. What a Godsend.

It sounds like you don't enjoy Disney in general given you bash so many rides. You even have a thread on your puzzlement on the 7dmt.

You are completely biased and it seems that whatever limited attractions you might enjoy and their availability the moment your spontaneity demands is what you use to measure the FP+ program.

I would say that it would never please you in any format.

Lisa I admire your persistence.

There are ways it could be improved but that's not what this thread is about.

As for whether I don't or do enjoy Disney, you're right. I hate it. I've been going 25+ years because I loathe everything Disney. You got me Lisa.

But Wis .... there's SO MUCH MORE to do at WDW than rides, right? :rotfl2:

Sure there is, but we have never tried to spend 16 consecutive days there and try to entertain ourselves without some redundancy. You tell us how you were able to do that. :confused3

I read those too, and I was hoping to find that to be the case for A&E on our trip, but no luck unfortunately. I was on the app from about 8:45 (right after I got through bag check) - 15 mins before official park opening - until about 9:10, hitting refresh constantly as we walked down Main Street. No luck. Not the end of the world, or even something I was really expecting, but I was hoping. No big deal, though, just passing along the experience of looing for a FP+ release day of.

Yeah, I put A&E in a class by itself because it is a fad bordering on hysteria and because, by its nature, the capacity is going to be a lot less than a ride.

As I've said before, FP+, paper FP, or no FP at all, not everyone who wants to do that is going to be able to do it without waiting.

Even some people who want to wait are unable to do it.

We switched our MK day to Epcot the day before and I had no problems getting FP+ for the meet and greet(Mickey is dd3 favorite), TT, and yes Nemo because dd3 loves that movie. I also had no problems moving the times around to get them both to a time more convenient to us. I guess we just got really lucky :confused3

Wow.

Since "us" isn't asking, only you are, I never thought I'd hear you say that you couldn't think of enough things to do at WDW other than ride the same ride over and over and over again.

How did you get from your comment about riding the same ride over and over and over again on the same day to thinking that had anything to do with not being able to stay 16 days without doing something more than once? Are you also recommending now what the maximum number of days at WDW should be?

I agree. My point wasn't about the overall lack of availability, but that it does not seem (at least for that day), that Disney was releasing any FP+ for that attraction on the day of. I remember reading reports of people wondering if they did for A&E, and - on our trip at least - the answer to that was no.
