Spoke with Disney Agent about codes !!

I called Disney reservations this morning to book my room only AAA discounted room at Boardwalk Inn this morning and tried getting any new information about codes from this Disney agent that was very helpful. She said that if they release any codes it will be for after the spring break season is over for Disney World, which ends April 16th. Then I asked her, "When the dicount codes will come out?" she said, they would come out Mid to End of March. Hope they come out earlier....but we may have to wait another week or two .

I can't wait that long. I currently have a package booked with AAA. I have to cancel that at least 45 days before departure, or I will have to pay a penalty. I think I have 10 more days. Come on, codes!

I wish that someone would say one way or the other whether they are coming out or not...so we would all know. I'm sure some make ps based on where they are staying.

Keep the reservation. When and IF the code come out, then apply the discount to your existing room. As long as the discount can be applied and available, you can even apply it the day before your arrival.

You can definitely apply the codes up until the day before you go. Also I heard the same thign about the codes. I have a few friends who work FT at Disney now that they have finished their business degrees and their bosses have basically told them, "We don't find out until the day they come out, but this year they will for sure not be out until at least mid-March, no earlier."

I don't think AAA will always apply the Discount and once you have AAA Disney can't take it over. Good Luck!

I agree, I think packages are different than room only reservations.

That's interesting but goes against what our travel agent said. Our first night at Disney is April 16th (at the Polynesian) and that was the ONLY night she could get us a passholders discount! We are on the Wonder the next 4 nights and then ending with 3 nights at the Boardwalk - no discounts (as of yet) for that room.

Wish we knew what was going on...

Agents can get you discounts. However, once you get the AAA package... it is pretty much stuck! LOL! (Plus lots of agents don't even know there are discounts!)

If you were staying at WDW the entire time at the Poly you could have that AP Rate the entire stay, but since you have another ressie for dates beyond 4/16 which is the last day for AP rates, those rates aren't out yet. Hope that made sense.

Packages are different.

For room only, you may be able to get the discount right before your trip, as long as the rate hasn't expired and rooms are available.

If there are no rooms available at your resort, you won't be able the get the discount. Having a room reserved doesn't guarantee that you can get any discount that comes out.

I just got of the phone w/ CRO. Asking again if there was a pin associated w/ my name or any word on AP codes. The CM was Sooooooooooo nice. He told me they've all been talking about it and are starting to wonder themselves if there will be NO gen'l codes or AP codes coming out for late April into summer. Bookings are very high!

I'm so bummed. We booked ASMo...and we really enjoy that hotel and I AM looking forward to our trip. But I was also looking forward to an AP rate that would let me save $$, and allow me to book 2 nights at the Contemporary at the end of our trip!! We have young children and I just wanted the convenience of a Monorail hotel for at least a couple of days. *sigh* Well. just have to wait and see.

I also asked a CRO, and she said that IF they were gonna have a code that it wouldn't be out till April 16th, and she said that is only if they need to fill up the rooms, but with the Happiest Celebration on Earth, she said bookings are great!!! That kinda worries me cause it makes me think it is going to be packed!!

Well I'm back to where I started then. If codes come out within the next 10 days, I'll book with code, then cancel my package with AAA without having to pay a penalty. If they come out after 10 days, I will keep my package. I'm not willing to pay $100 penalty for canceling at that point.
Ugh. Trying to decide if I should get up at 4am pst and check for codes for the next few days...
