Spoilers for suvivior on the VMK board?????

I am very upset right now.... I have not had a chance to watch suvivor, and I know who one thanks to a post here. I am so mad!!!!!!!!!

Why in the heck would you post HERE a HUGE SPOILER for something totally not related to VMK!!!!!

I was really looking forward to relaxing tomorrow, while the kids were in school and watching my beloved Suvivor... and now you have taken that from me.....

Then mom really should teach her about SPOILERS.... If she is old enough to watch survivor, old enough to post here (as appose to the KIDS VMK fourm) then she is old enough to know about SPOILERS.

Maybe this is the biggest problem with the VMK Dis boards right now...the many posts by kids in the regular forum. Lots of OT posts, random polls (should i leave VMK and others) and just no understanding of how a message board actually works. Ugh the whole situation is very frustrating as are the days of sifting through random posts trying to find actual VMK information of value. I know I am not being nice, guess i am venting. You know the straw that broke the camel's back and all...

Oh just wanted to clarify that I did not get to watch cuz my tivo broke and did not record. Also WebasterKelsie, I did not see her post nor was I picking on her specifically, just the kids posting in general. I feel bad for the people that did see it, but mistakes happen. I was just so happy to see the kids VMK forum go up and I am extremely dissapointed to not see it used more.

You didn't think that maybe a thread with the subject line "Survivor!!!" posted after the end of the season finale might have the name of the winner in it? I thought I had a part in spoiling it because of the time zone difference but isn't the reunion show live? That means it was over for everyone.

You should probably stay away from any discussions of the show online or off if protecting the outcome is so important to you.

Again, sorry. I thought I was just participating in a discussion with someone that has two things in common with me, Survivor and VMK. I thought maybe I would find a few more people who share those interests. It was off-topic, I apologize.

I DO understand people are upset, I would be also but PLEASE don't let this mistake by my daughter turn into a debate about VMK Kids. It's a mistake even adults have made. It's not about VMK kids, it is about one kid who made a mistake and is very sorry. I don't know what else to say other than we are very sorry.

I am not trying to start a debate about VMK kids, but with all due respect, the reason the VMK kids board was made was so the VMK kids could go there and post to their hearts content about anything off topic they wanted (at least thats what the post on the VMK board said when the Kids board was opened) and I just dont see that happening as often as it should from some of the kids.

To me I was mad because I missed it, not due to the thread, but I know how upset people get about shows they watch all season.I have to agree though, if you open a post titled "survivor", you are prbably asking for trouble. And to answer the above question, no it is not live to those of us that dont live in the EST. We get a little message thats says "live" in one corner, and "previously recorded" right under it.

As you think this little girls Mom should teach her about Spoilers I think Your Mom should teach you about Forgivness, kindness and anger management!

I am deeply saddened by this behavior being exhibited here in this thread and in the other thread that Kelsie deleted.

First off I am really sorry that Kelsie was made to feel she needed to apologize for DisIvyCo at all...she did nothing wrong by posting that thread.

If you did not want to know the contents then you should not have clicked on the topic of Survivor I could tell without spoiler being added to the title that there was a spoiler in that thread just by looking. She did put the name in italics afterall.

This goes for all threads if you are not interested in the thread or you think it may contain something you do not want to see then do not click on it.

Secondily that DisIvyCo was reduced to tears by being attacked not only here on this thread but in the other one as well and in a PM. Please!

thirdly and this is not directed at anyone in particular but to everyone who posts on the VMK boards.

The VMK forums are our community and as our community we all post mainly here on these boards few venture off them and post elsewhere on the DIS and that is the way it should be. We are a small community inside the larger community of the DIS.

The main board is for discussions about VMK but getting off topic is allowed and posters should not be made to feel bad about posting an off topic discussion on the main board every once in a while.

As far as kids/teens posting on the main board, yes we have a kids/teen community board now but that does not mean they are banished to it never to post on the main board again.

While some just seem to not want to leave the Main board and post over there others post there freely and that board is very well used.

This board has already been split by the actions of some here that have no place on these boards or in VMK and then to have children treated like second class citizens and being made to feel like they are not welcomed is further splitting this community.


Please take the time to think about what you post when you are heated or annoyed. You can offer criticism and opinions just do so in a constructive manner without attacking the posters.


Let's all try to just have fun, enjoy each others company and have the Best VMK boards on the WWW.

That said we are growing here by leaps and bounds and any suggestions you have for making this community a better place will be listened too and taken under consideration.

We already have things in the works that we think you will be happy with.

Here, here! I second Tink's comments. Although I didn't get to know you Dis, until you asked me to join the Kids Teleporter Network. You have been a great friend.

Anyway, if the thread had not had "Survivor" in it, I might have understood some of the displeasure of the complainants. But you put the show's title in the thread title, so it is their issue, for having looked at it, not yours!

The complainants in this thread are my friends, and fellow parents. I am shocked and upset myself, to wonder how any parent would feel if someone attacked our child(ren) in this manner?

There was a thread a while ago with a similar "parenting" issue. I said then, as I say now, SPEAK TO THE PARENT IN PRIVATE FIRST. Don't go publicly belittling anyone, let alone a child! It not only hurts their self-esteem and confidence, but throws YOUR OWN parenting skills into question. A PARENT should know better, and behave in an appropriate manner, in a "mixed" child/adult environment. At the very least, practice constructive critisicm, if you don't know whom the parent is.

I'm going to close this thread because it was a mistake by my daughter which she has learned from and I don't want to see any additional hurt feelings.
