With all the discussion and anger in recent days concerning posting Olympic, sporting event, and TV show spoilers maybe we should agree on guidelines instead of relying on someone's definition of some unwritten rules. I'm not suggesting board policy be changed, but more of an agreement amongst "friends". So here goes, feel free to add your own.
1) Do not, under any circumstances, post a score, winner, competitor's name, event, or TV character.
2) The thread title should be sandwiched between '******SPOILER******* ******SPOILER*******' and should either scroll from left to right, or flash. It should also be in red and sound an alarm.
3) Do not post anything suggestive of the result in the title. For example, 'BIG Rhythmic Gymnastics News' or 'Do you believe what happened on Wheel of Fortune last night?' are out.
4) When posting the text of the message, press enter 57 times before keying anything resembling a spoiler, or use invisible ink. If possible, key the text so that it can only be read through red cellophane.
5) Make sure the text self destructs after being viewed 50 times.
