We just got back from a last minute beach trip at St. Augustine. Really last minute. As in, booked a room, threw some clothes in the suitcase and hit the road. When we first walked in the hotel room (basic room/ 2 beds) my DS6 looked around and asked, "Where are the rest of the rooms? Where do we eat? Where is MY bed?". :rotfl:Think the 2br villas have spoiled us a bit???

Love it! :rotfl: My daughter used to say the same thing when she was younger :lmao: And we had been staying in GV! :woohoo: Don't you just love getting to spoil them?!? :thumbsup2

:lmao:

My son was about that age when we had to go out of town for a memorial service. I booked the Fairfield Inn by Marriott thinking it would be to our liking. It was nice, but as soon as we walked in, my DS asked "where's the refrigerator? Where's the Microwave? How are we gonna live!!":rotfl:

First time we stayed in a studio, we walked in and he asked "where's our room" :lmao:

He is also picky about the rest stops on our 18 hour drives. I have the exits circled on the map/gps that are up to his standards from TX to WDW:laughing:

Isn't it the truth! My grandchildren have not stayed in anything less than a 2br when they go with us. We feel so blessed that we can take them every year because they love WDW as much as we do.

I travel a lot for work - and every time I check in to a new hotel I have a hard time when I find out that there is not a hidden Mickey in sight, there is not an option for a wake up call with Character, and there are no H2O+ Bath products to be found! :(

It's a real wake up call to check out of a DVC resort on Saturday and into a Hampton Inn, Embassy Suites etc on Monday - no fun!

Only beef with DVC is this - PLEASE - get ditch the polyester bed spreads! When a business class hotel beats out Disney bedding by a mile - it's time for Disney to up their game!

If ONLY every hotel were a copy of Wilderness Lodge! :cloud9:

We went from a 2 bedroom villa at the GCV to a single room at the PPH at Disneyland which was a perfectly good hotel room to us last time we stayed there in 2005. :rolleyes1

::yes:: We are spoiled by DVC. Spoiled but grateful. :cloud9:

How quickly Disney teaches that first class is more than a boarding pass . . . .

too funny that was my DD when we went to the Hard Rock Hotel in July.

My kids and grandkids have never stayed in DVC - just mods and deluxe resorts. We are taking them next May for a stay in a Grand Villa and I can't wait to see their faces! My DIL says she would rather stay at the Poly. She is in for a shock! DH and I have only been DVC members for a little over 2 years and we are totally spoiled. It has taken us this long to get the kids to commit to go with us. We think that once they experience this they will be begging to go back with us.

When my kids grew up and started taking their own vacations I told them that they would have to lower their standards QUITE A BIT. ;)
