Should I do in room decoration with Christmas Tree or Welcome Basket or should I opt for Fantasmic Premier Viewing? What should we do? I am looking for a special splurge for my family!

We always splurge on F, it is now a tradition and a budget line item.

I vote for the tree. We surprised the kids in 2005 with the trip, tree, and had bell services hide their gifts and stockings until Christmas Eve. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if we didn't celebrate Hanukkah and they believed in Santa.

I know it's expensive, but if you can swing it I would do both. I just did an in-room celebration (From Mickey & Minnie With Love) for my husband for our anniversary, and it was beautiful!

The Fantasmic seating with the desserts is amazing, worth it alone just not to have to camp out for hours for a decent seat. The desserts were yummy, and having someone bring you a hot cup of chocolate is great.

If I would have to choose one, I would choose the Fantasmic seating.

How old are your children? I think the Cruzin' Through California segway tour is a blast!

They aren't currently offering this tour because of all the construction at DCA...I was hoping to do it for my DH and I. Oh well, maybe next time!

Last time I looked that tour was put on hold for the construction at DCA.

I'd pick the special seating because it will be a memory of something special you got to do. You could always have a tree at home.

Just curious...how much does the tree run and how big is it?

I would probably go for the Fantasmic if I had to choose one though. I've never done it myself, but not having to camp out and deal with the crowds for a decent viewing spot sounds great to me.

::yes:: DS and I are going to do the Holiday Tour.

Oops! I meant that comment for the OP, but it's kind of funny the way it came out directed at you . You know, they have a little thing about Dr. Somethingstein on Main St and talk about the menorrah (sp?) and some Jewish traditions. So, you know, there is about 5 minutes of the 2+ hour tour devoted specifically to Jewish stuff :rotfl:

:rotfl2: Disney is so diverse when it comes to the holidays not. ;)

I see what you are saying--but what kind of diversity are you wanting?

I think the issue is that much of Christmas has become a cultural holiday--so even if you are not super religious--you may partake in the Santa/Candy Cane/Christmas decor type of stuff.

I expect nothing hence the :rotfl2: and ;) We celebrate faithfully on a pure cultural stance.

You know your family--do they love Fantasmic, or would they rather have some stuff to bring home? If it were me and my mom I'd have to go with the Fantasmic! seating because my mom likes to feel pampered. If it were me and a friend, we'd probably enjoy the tree more.

Depending on how you are getting to the parks, you might be able to bring some decorations with you and decorate your room for them. If your family will go to bed before you, you could even fill tiny stockings and use command adhesive hooks to put them up overnight, if that appealed to you.
