Splitting a stay between Savannah view and Conceirge....

Has anyone done this? If so, how is it handled? We are planning to spend the 1st 3 nites in a standard savannah view and the last 4 in conceirge...I certainly hope this is worth it!! Thanks for any input!

We have never split our stay but since you are going from savannah to concierge contact the concierge desk and ask them to arrange to pick up your luggage.

The concierge staff will also issue you your keys to your room. Make sure you are around when they take your bags so you can get to the lounge. If not I'n sure concierge will tke care of it.

When you check into AKL you might want to try and get comped a concierge room for your entire stay.

Hi.. I answered this question on another thread of yours too...

If you like your first room you can ask to stay there and just add lounge access to your cards... that will save you the hassle of packing and moving.

If you want to try the concierge room.. then pack up and be ready by 11:00am. Hopefully your new room will be ready so you can go to it straight away.. or the front desk may arrange for a late check out in your standard room until your concierge room is ready so yo don't have to store your luggage.

There are very few savanna view rooms on the 6th floor where the lounge is... most likely you will be on the 5th floor with a Arusha savanna view from Kudu or Zebra trails... this is a good thing as the views from the 6th floor rooms are not as nice.

>>^..^<< Can you request a room on the 5th floor? Have you done this? Request a room? Are the deluxe rooms worth moving to? I talk to someone in conceirge already for the Sunrise Safari...I wasn't going change the reservation if I couldn't get the Safari..And she did tell me most of the rooms are savannah and she would do everything in her power to get me that room. In all my times to disney this will be our first conceirge...I have no idea what to do or expect! Thanks for the help!

Hi Mep...

I am almost positive the 5th floor rooms are all deluxe savanna view.. and floors 2, 3 & 4 have standard savanna view.

The deluxe rooms are 'slightly' larger than the standard.. maybe 50 square feet, nothing noticible. They have a makeup mirror and robes and some rooms have a daybed in addition to the other bedding.

Many guests swear the 'animal' viewing is better from the lower floors ~ and after staying on the 5th floor twice, I can understand what they mean... you really do get a better look at the animals up close.

On 5 you get a better view of the whole savanna and resort. You may love your first room and not want to move, who knows?

The rooms used for concierge are close to the lobby so you are not trekking forever to get to the lounge.

I think if I were you I would discuss the options with concierge one you have arrived in your first room. See what they planed to assign you and decide then what you want to do.

Is concierge sold out for your first few nights or are you splitting on purpose?

Have Fun

It is sold out...well there are no annual rates available for those 3 nites...I certainly can't justify doing rack rack when it is $400+ for those 1st 3 nites (as opposed to $199 savannah view!). We stayed 2nd flr Zebra Trail previously and really loved our room so I can't say it concerns me that I'm staying in a 'standard' room the 1st 3 nites....I'm sure I will be thrilled! Plus I don't know what I'm missing so I doubt I'll be disappointed just hoping to be completely amazed for the last 4 nites!

Ahhh.. okay, now I understand... the rate is not available.

You are going to love your last few days in concierge... enjoy it!

I have some photos of the concierge lounge and sunrise safari on my website link below... have a GREAT trip.. wish I was heading there soon too!

I am doing something very similar. We are staying the first 3 nights concierge and the next 8 savannah. I have requested to be in a standard savannah view room for the entire time. My two reasons for this request were that I don't want to move, and I don't want to be on one of the higher floors (we were on the 2nd floor last year and loved it!). If you're happy with your orignial room, I wouldn't move for 40 extra feet.

Erin :D

We stayed standard view (not savanna) the first two nights last year and the conceirge the last three nights. We we put in the conceirge savanna view for the whole stay. We never had to move. It was wonderful. Call the conceirge staff and explain what you are doing they may try to get you a room so you don't have to move.

I was thinking of doing something similar so I could go on the Sunrise Safari... but I remembered reading something about a minimum two night stay. I was also wondering which days the safari was held...

TIA :)

Bunnyfoo: I'm not sure that a mininum night stay ever came true. I'm saying this because we had only 2 night of our vacation not booked and wanted AKL concierge for the sunrise safari. We were only able to get a deluxe pool view for Fri.and then Concierge for Sat.. I called to make sure this was O.K and they said that i would have to get up extra early and check in to get my club level card but that it's all set even got a letter stating this. So i would give them a call and ask.
