I am planning a trip in Feb 2010 with my parents and my 4 yo DS. We're looking at the Dining Plan, but can't decide whether it's a good deal for us. I just had a gastric bypass and therefore can eat very little at a meal. In addition my mother has a fairly small appetite.

Does the Dining Plan allow us to order 1 meal to split between us, and only count that as one meal charge against the plan?

Mostly..Buffets /family style places will charge you full adult price each. A la carte TS places will mostly allow you to split. For some reason, Beaches and Cream over at the BC does not allow it.

If you are looking to split meals all the time then I don't think it would be worth it to you. If you like to go for TS then it might. I would suggest looking at the menus and seeing prices, etc. and see how you would eat.

Boy, I could swear I had read ...... somewhere ...... that people who had had gastric bypass surgery could get an adult buffet at the children's price. Did anyone else read that? Perhaps Disney does make some other concessions for those who have had gastric bypass?

I remember one or 2 posters in many moons on these boards coming back and saying they were allowed to pay a kids buffet price. It is up to the restaurant. Most will NOT allow it .Why? because an adult buffet starts for ages 10 yrs old and up.Some 10 yr olds eat far LESS than a gastric bypass patient( some less than a 5 yr old ), and yet they are charged adult prices. There is also no way to police people at the buffets either. Now most gastric bypass patients eat very small freq meals. But I personally know a few( friends of mine) that can still eat more than I do in one sitting...herein lies the problem..I forgot to add that at Disney most of the buffet cost isn't the food, it is the venue, the characters, and the experience.
