Splitting FP between party members

My husband, myself, and my 10-year-old will use a FP for Space Mountain. However, our 2 younger children will not be riding (1 is not tall enough and the other isn't ready, I don't think). We will have to do a child swap. Can we get a FP for them on something else and accompany them? How does that work or what's the best strategy here? Thanks!

Rider Swap. 1 adult + 10 yr old FP Space Mountain and request Rider Swap pass after showing the too short kid. You + any 2 others ride on the Swap.

You plus the small ones FP a different ride.

don't mean to hijak, but we're in the same boat. I'm stressing about my window opening up this week.

What if my husband and I want to do ToT but neither my 12 year old (5'5") or my 9 year old want to do it. While they're both tall enough, neither like drops. How does this work? Do I schedule 1 FP for my husband and we can all get in the FP line and do child swap, and then I can get a FP for a character m&g with the kids while my DH stays outside that line? Or, can I not do this since both my kids are TALL enough for the ride, just not BRAVE enough? We've actually never done child swap before because we have done a lot of splitting up and traveling with others before.

If my DH and I did a FP here, then my kids are stuck with a FP that neither of us can do with them, which doesn't sit well with me. In the old system, we'd both get one, do it one at a time, and then we'd split up for the rest of the day. My DH and DS would use all our fast psase

Honestly it depends on the CM if they will allow that. Basically from all the research I've read, it's a 50/50 shot they'll allow it. So if you both really want to do ToT, it's best to schedule the FP for both of you. Not sure how comfortable you are with this, but any child 7 yrs or older can ride an attraction alone. So you could book the children a different FP, say for Star Tours, if they like that, and they can go together.

ok; thank you. I think it depends on the ride if I'd let them go by themselves :)

So that I understand clearly--I won't need a FP as well in order to get the rider swap pass? Just my husband and oldest daughter? Then I can still ride (with my oldest daughter riding again) and then take the 2 younger girls on something else?

Yes, that is correct.
