There's a question in here really :sunny:

I am getting ready to make my first ressie for our first stay at WDW!!! :cool1: I just want to make sure that I understand what will happen. I know you guys will know the answer!

We are planning a trip for next Oct with friends (we are both 30something couples, no kids coming). We will be there for 7 days, they are going to stay with us (in the same room) for 3 days, then they are going home. I am not sure if we want to do the DDP, but we may try it.

If we decide to try DDP out, I will make two ressies so we won't have to pay the extra $ for the 4 days they aren't there. (No way we could eat that much food anyway!) If I link the ressies so we could stay in the same room (DH really doesn't want to move rooms), would we still have to get the DDP for the 4 of us for the entire stay, even if there are only two of us for the 2nd half of the linked ressie? Or would they be treated as completely different ressies and just be "referenced" to each other in the system?

If linking them is treated as one ressie and I make two separate unliked ressies, I will be at the mercy of the wonderful front desk CM to make a note for me so we don't have to move, right? If we have a chance on moving I may see if I can talk DH into a split stay at two different DVC's but that is :offtopic: for this question and another challenge for me :)

JMO but its your 1 st stay at WDW with friends (all 30 something) no kids during the F&WF and want to do the DDP. If you do the DDP you could miss out on all the food at the F&WF because the DDP has a lot of food. We go to the F&WF every year and do some lunches around 1 or 2 PM ( with the DDE card) then at night EPCOT for the F&WF.

Not sure about how your ressie will work for the DDP, sorry.

I hadn't actually thought of that. Thanks for the reminder. :sunny:

Anyone have info about the ressie?

I think if you link the reservations, you have to get the dining plan for the entire time.

I have reservations for BWV over New Years. I made them day by day, and for some reason, they couldn't add the 3rd and subsequent days to the ressie for the first two days, so they made a separate ressie and linked them.

I was told that as long as they were linked, any dining plan would have to be for the entire stay. If I unlinked them, then I could get the dining plan for just one of the ressies if I wanted, but would run the risk of having to change rooms.
