Splitting a reservation…is it possible?

We have a 10 day reservation that we booked 11 months out for a busy time. We no longer want to go for that long due to the limited activities happening during F&W. Does anyone know if we are allowed to split the reservation instead of just canceling some days? Then we could find a friend or renter for half the days. The points expire this year and availability is pretty limited so we’d prefer to hang on to these valuable nights….just not all for us. MS chat didn’t know the answer to this.

You can't just split a reservation. You could drop nights and try to grab them as a new reservation but obviously no guarantee that will work.

Chat CMs will not be able to help you. You may be able to call and have MS change your reservation. If they can do it quickly enough then you should have not problem with modifying your original reservation to less days and adding a second reservation for the 2nd half.

MS generally refuses to do this. If they do, they won't guarantee that they won't lose something.

My advice is to do it yourselves at an odd time - maybe very late at night or uber early (like 4 am Eastern). Then cross your fingers and hope for pixie dust that no one on the website wants what you released. Then you can make a new reservation to rent.

To add, if there is a waitlist for any of the days you drop, it is possible they will never show back up.

I have had both things happen, drop and get it back on my other membership or with different points and drop and nothing.

Not possible as others have said, but I cannot see why it shouldn't be allowed in⁵ principle. Maybe they'll add it in the next uber release.

I think it all depends on when it is booked and such. If you are allowed 11 plus 7, and then split it later into 4 and 3, you actually end up with getting that advantage.

But, for those not booked during that advantage, I can see it being allowed

ETA. The more I think about it, scratch this! It probably would be fine to do.
