Splitting a 200 point VDH Contract

So, um, are you changing your 150 from last week (was that only last week?) to 200, or is this 200 more? The last I saw, you weren't changing it because the incentives weren't better. (Or at least, I think that's what I saw. I'm losing track.)

Edit - I saw your post in the other thread - congratulations! I also see your updated points total in your signature, so I see you edited your 150 to 200.
Yes I went to 200 and yes it was $100 worse to go with the new incentives, but they threw in the framed Mary Blair inspired canvas print so now I had to 😅 If it wasnt framed i would probably pass (actually, no who am I kidding 😅)

Ultimately we could afford 200 with the additional time she gave us to pay our deposit and all 450 vdh points are spoken for without me booking my birthday or Thanksgiving weekend which I wanted to book a two bedroom for the first holiday with family at DVC 🤦‍♀️

So i passed on MB again. I know I won't regret it. Im still waiting for my points to load up, just signed a modification of contract forms!

How much extra is it to split into 2 contracts? I assume more at closing?
The closing costs in California are already cheap and then waiving that title insurance made it super cheap! Here's my breakdown with title insurance waived for those curious!

1st 75-point contract:
Purchase Price: $18,600
Incentives applied: $4,754
Closing costs: $38.90
Doc prep fee: $250
Offer price: $14,134.20
20% down: $2,826.84
Minus escrow transfer: $1387.50
remaining balance of 20%: $1,387.50
To be scheduled in April

2nd 75-point contract:
Purchase Price: $18,600
Incentives applied: $2,007.18
Closing costs: $38.90
Doc prep fee: $250
Offer Price: $16,881.72
20% down: $3,376.34
Minus escrow transfer: $1,581.42
Remaining balance of 20%: $1,794.92
To be scheduled in April

50 point contract:
Purchase Price: $12,400
Incentives applied: $1,338.05
Closing costs: $31.75
Doc prep fee: $250
20% down: $2,268.74
Minus escrow transfer: $1,581.42
Remaining balance of 20% down: $687.32
To be scheduled in April

So as you can see the closing costs are a mere $30 something (minus doc prep fee) when waiving title insurance! That made the three way split cheaper than one closing cost with title insurance. I know everyone's peace of mind tolerance is difference, but im reading this thing with a fine tooth comb for spelling errors and what not!

I already caught the earlier error of not giving me enough incentives. Now I see a second error which is my escrow transfer credits. I have paid more than what is listed here on one of the contracts. I have already emailed for correction. I cant imagine how many people dont dissect things and errors fall thru the cracks. We know im not the best at math so perhaps I am wrong, but I will keep everyone posted, I like to be transparent for others to be aware of potential issues.

I was told previously that email breakdowns are not allowed anymore and then I was provided with this. I very much appreciate this as this is how my brain works with math, need to digest it step by step lol.

Through this process I have found a lot if errors and I dont want to say lies although i believe the one im about to refer to is, but incorrect information.

Im not too happy that I was told that I needed to purchase 200 points for the Mary Blair inspired print but @ClaraOswald was told she would be receiving it at 150.

What i mean is i am very happy she is receiving it and think she absolutely should be, but my issue is with me being told I need to buy 200 points to get it is not true. And I didnt need to be told that anyways because I was already going to buy 200 points, I was just deciding if I thought the price was worth the extra hundo or not.

I get that this is sales, but I expect more from Disney. Now, I asked my guide if this Mary Blair print is by the BLT and VDH artist Joey Chou since some of us are trying to figure that out, but my guide said no, that the last name of the artist is Kim. I would take that with a grain of salt however given the at least 4 instances of incorrect information ive been fed the past day.

Im going to do some snooping and try to find the print online and if not I will go to vdh on our next disney trip probably next week and ask my guide to point it out and then ill take a pic and share😅 @VGCgroupie @tx911

I was also told my guide couldn't break it down in email, but he rapidly read it off to me by phone and I tried to write it all down. Really dislike these new rules by DVC and I imagine it makes the job harder on the guides too. Glad your guide finally sent the breakdown anyway. Looking forward to tomorrow when my guide is back and works on mine.

To clarify, my guide didn't mention anything about how many points were needed to get the artwork. He just told me we would be getting it. The documents we received have a page about the artwork and on that page, it's mentioned that current and new buyers will get it if they purchase at least 150 points. It's limited edition and I can't remember how many they said there were.

Exactly! Because if she just read it to me, i would not have caught the error on my escrow transfer credits. And that is a significant mistake. Perhaps the actual contract would have been correct, but now im def reading this thing thoroughly and calculating before signing.

I think she was hearing my frustration about not feeling comfortable moving forward without knowing exactly how much i am paying, Which i made very clear.

I am cross referencing the dvc deposits page and my bank account to make sure I receive all of my credits and incentives.

Thank you I think im going to point this page out to her. She told me there is only 200 prints but I dont believe it. I do believe its limited edition and she said you cant buy it anywhere.

I think my guide did say it was for the first 200 people who purchase at VDH this incentive cycle.

I am so tempted to call in like a month and pretend im someone else and see if these prints are still available 🤣🤣 Perhaps this is the key to us tracking vdh sales 🤣🤣 Still available? Less than 200 sold!

Sounds like "200" was misheard somewhere in the pipeline. I don't think @Girlstar30's guide was being cagey. I think she understood it wrong.
I would think this too, except she told me that new members had to buy 250 points right after telling me existing members needed to buy 200 to qualify. So there was discussion about how many points needed to qualify and the first 200 getting it. Now with all these 200 numbers, she may very well have been confused herself. I really dont want to accuse anyone of intentionally lying especially someone that has been good to us. My frustration is my frustration with my experience with DVC as a whole. Consistently inconsistent but oh so magical 😆 That being said I highly appreciate the breakdown provided to me, although it was provided after being told it cant be provided 😅😅
