Spliting fastpasses and using rider switch

I know many people have done this, but has anyone had any recent problems with getting fastpasses for only the first group riding and then getting rider switch, to maximize fastpasses? I'm only tempted because I'd love to fastpass the princess for my girls and I, and use the other two fastpasses for Space Mountain. We have a child who is under the height restriction, one who hates rollercoasters, and one who would like to ride with each parent. Have they ever checked to make sure both parents have fastpasses or not allowed the first group to enter the fastpass line using fastpasses?

If I understand your question correctly -- you only need two Fast Passes for the first group (the adult and child who are riding the first time).

Then with the Rider Switch pass, the other adult and the same child (the second group) can enter the Fast Pass lane.

(Reason why both adults don't need to have Fast Passes: If both adults needed to have Fast Passes, then those whose only children are under the height requirement would never even need Rider Switch. The second adult would be able to enter the Fast Pass lane anyway.)

Yes, that was my question. Thank you.
I wasn't sure if it was still always allowed because it feels a little like "gaming the system." It lets you double the number of rides you are holding fastpasses for. Even if this wasn't allowed, rider switch would be useful when you have to ride standby because you are holding fastpasses for a different ride and can't get another fp yet. For example, we're going to use it for Star Tours while we all hold fp for TSM. On the other hand, it makes things slightly easier for people traveling with small children. :)

We have never had a problem using our fastpasses in this fashion. I have never been asked to present fastpasses for the whole family while using the rider swap pass.

It's not gaming the system- without the child who is unable to ride- everyone would use their fastpasses and go in together - one ride cycle. You are still at a disadvantage in that you have to go thru two ride cycles. So, yes make use of child swap and double your fastpasses and for heavens sake don't feel guilty about it.

We used the Rider Switch Fastpasses on our trip in November. We get our fastpasses then when it was time to use them, we would go to the fastpass line with everyone so that they saw we had one who did not meet the height restriction. They would give a Rider Switch Fastpass to the one holding the baby. The Rider Switch Fastpass was valid for 3 people. The 4 of them would ride then when they finished, I would give my friend her baby back and do the ride with the boys. It was a bonus to the boys that they got to ride twice. :)

No you are not supposed to ask for Rider Switch passes if you have Fastpasses. Rider Switch passes are meant to keep families from waiting twice in the Stand Byline.

So, yes, asking for a Rider Switch when you are going to use the Fastpass line is exactly "gaming the system" (excellent way of putting it).

However, to answer your question, I have seen many people write on here in the last few months and indicate that they have used Rider Switch in conjunction with Fastpasses. So I think either some CMs are not checking to see which line a family is entering before giving out the pass, or else there has been an unadvertised policy change. From what I'm reading, you'll be able to do it.

This isn't true. You can use FP and then use rider switch. It doesn't matter which line you start out in.

was wondering if things have changed with fastpass+?? I was wondering the same if you can use fastpass for one parent and the other parent get a rider's pass?
