We are planning a week in December -- 4-11; will it be much less crowded that week than from day after thanksgiving to the 3rd of Dec?

Also, anyone ever split their trip between resorts. We want to stay at both Poly & YC. Is it difficult to do? Will Disney move your luggage? I think i read that here. Any positive (or negative) experiences would be appreciated.

I've only split my stay between resorts one time. I was unable to get disney to transfer my luggage. As I had planned to spend the day between the two resort at IOA I packed all the luggage in the rental and hauled it with me then to AKL that night to check in. I also had some issue with the length of stay pass that I had to sort through at check in. They were trying to make me pay for two length of stay passes, one for each resort which would have overlapped one day therefor paying for one day twice. I prefer picking one resort for the length of my stay. The less complicated the better!

I do this all the time, you notify bell services the night before that you will be transferring and to which resort. that morning you call them to come get your bags, they will transfer them to the new resort for you, don't expect them before at least 3pm anything you need before that keep with you.
Of course you will tip them for service. I usually pack two bags one for each part of the trip but you don't have to do that if you don't want to.

Thanks for the responses on the split week. wondering if the week after T'giving (Nov. 26-Dec 3) will be much more crowded than the next week (Dec. 3-10 or 4-11?) Assuming that is the case, but looking for some feedback.

This is the time of year we went last year to avoid the crowds and we did OK. The only problem was the the Christmas parade taping of Live with Regis and Kelly was there, (Magic Kingdom) and rumor has it, it was almost to capacity that day. It usually tapes the first weekend in December. Just avoid that park on that day.
Lines were at most 10 to 20 minutes, many we were able to walk right on.

You want to do "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade", a special pass is required I think about $35 dollars and the park closes at 7:00 (I think) then you can stay in the park, with limited people, and there is hot coco, cookies, family pictures and rides open with a special parade about 8:30 and fireworks at 9:30 or so, if I am not mistaken the park was open until 11:00.

McCall I really would love to try two resort on our upcoming trip in Dec. so that information is really handy. My husband does NOT want to change hotels. Too complicated but I'd really like to try WL and something else.

Thanks for the input!

We have split resorts our last three stays and haven't had any problems. Disney moved our luggage and it was at our next resort when we arrived. Some folks say it wastes a day to move but it doesn't have to. Whenever you are ready to leave in the morning just have your things packed up and call bell services. Go to a park for the day and then return (after 3) to your new home. :)
