Split table service reservations?

Wondering if the following situation is acceptable:

There are three of us traveling to Epcot during F&W on the dining plan. One of our group really wants to eat at Le Cellier. The other two really want to eat at Rose & Crown during fireworks (since the Fireworks package is suspended due to Eat to the Beat).

Can we make reservations for three at both restaurants, but only use one table service credit at Le Cellier (and paying cash for, say, two additional appetizers) and use two table service credits at Rose & Crown (and pay cash for one appetizer or dessert for the third member at the table)? I see nothing wrong with setting things up like this, as long as restaurants don’t insist that every diner at the table must have a dinner entree or spend a table service credit.

There’s nothing wrong with making a reservation for one or two people, and kinder to other guests. Three people will be assigned a 4 top table. One or two people would normally be assigned a 2 top.

However, there are three of us, and all three will be seated together in both restaurants and all three will be eating *something* at both places. But we will only use one table service at Le Cellier and just two TS credits at Rose & Crown.

The more I think this through, the more it seems perfectly OK. After all, if we were not using DDP and were cash customers, we could certainly make a reservation and just order appetizers or dessert.

You are not forced to use your credits at any restaurant. If two people want to pay OOP then ask the server for separate checks at the beginning of the meal, one check for the person(s) using the DDP and one check for the cash guests. You don’t even need to mention that all three of you have the dining plan available. With some reservations requiring two credits, it is not unusual for someone on the dining plan to have to pay cash for a meal to save on credits for a signature meal.

Since Le Cellier is two credits and R&C is only one, that is going to leave an imbalance when it comes to credits. At some point, one person will have to pay OOP for a meal at another time while the other two use credits.

Yep, we are OK with the imbalance and will handle it later on. Thanks for thinking this through with me.
