Are split stays easy to do? My family really wants to stay at the Contemporary on our trip in summer 2008. We've stayed there before and love it.

I would love to try The Boardwalk. I was thinking of doing the first part of the week at Contemporary for the family and tacking on our last two nights at The Boardwalk. Is it worth it - to do a split stay or should I just save it for another vacation.

You'll get very different opinions on this subject! Some people just don't want to move, don't think it's worth the hassle, and others love having two different experiences.

We fall in the latter group. We do split stays alot, and now that we have DVC we will often stay at a value or mod for the weekend nights to save points. I like getting to try the different resorts. You never know when you'll find a new favorite! We always have a rental car, so we move our own luggage, but Disney will do that for you and I've read that it's very easy.

You picked two perfect resorts to do a split. And you will LOVE the BW! There's nothing like walking through that back entrance to Epcot. Have fun!

I've done the split stay a couple of times - just to be able to check out the more expensive resorts. Really enjoyed it too. Not too much hassle either. We will probably be doing it again next time we go.

We always do split stays. It gives you the chance to try out different resorts. We usually plan our split stays on what what parks we will be visiting. We stay at the Dolphin first and spent 4 days at Epcot, AK, and MGM, then moved over to WL and spent 2 days at MK. It was very easy to do. If you are splitting your stay between 2 Disney owned resorts, they will move your luggage for you.

Another thumbs up for the split stay here :thumbsup2 We have done so in the past and just returned from one this past Sunday. We think it is easy and have always had great success with Disney transferring luggage.

We did check-in early to GF Saturday morning around 9:00 AM after checking out of Yacht club. Our room was not ready until 2:30, but considering official check-in time is 3:00 PM that was fine with us. We spent the day at Magic Kingdom, called the number on the card given to us at our 9:00 AM check-in and were given our room number. When we arrived in the room, we called bell services and our luggage was promptly delivered.

We loved our split stay.....One caution is on the luggage thing......I will move it myself from now on....
We went from POFQ to OKW........We had 10 bags....I left the porters a $40 tip. When we went to our room at OKW at 11:00pm we had no luggage....they wouldnt deliver it without us there.....called the front desk, about a hour later the night Mgr. showed up with it. I told him about the tip I already left...I gave him $10, I felt like he was getting a bad deal out of it....just an awkward situation....
Transfer it if you can!!!
