Split Stays, Talk To Me

Pre planning for December, since i do not know when free dining will be announced or IF they will offer it, i am just gunna lightly think ahead. So my head is here, with split stays. Thinking of a Thursday to Wednesday trip, 4 adults, in a suite at AOA of ASM...
If the free dining is only released starting the Friday of my trip, I will need to book a different stay for the Thursday.
How will it play out?
Arrive Thursday around 3, and check in for the one stay. Will they be able to tell me if we need to switch rooms for the next days stay? Can I check in for the next nights stay at the same time? Or do I need to check in again, bring the luggage with me and get the bands on Friday?
Would they give the bands for Thursday night, even though i won't have park tickets until Friday, and just use the same band for both stays?

You might want to post this question on the Resorts forum, but I can tell you that the magic bands are not connected to having tickets. Since you would have 2 reservations, you would get 2 magic bands, but there's nothing on a magic band - they're just a means to access what's on your MDE account - so you would be able to use the magic bands interchangeably. Also, unless you're coming from outside the U.S., you don't get your magic bands at check-in, you get them mailed to you.
