We are doing a multiple split stay for 15 nights in November. We had to piece meal a vacation together, mostly DVC but 1 paid at POP. There are 7 different reservations to make up this vacation. Will the CM that sells me the mug at the first stay be able to extend it for the full time? I tried to get everything at AKV, but no luck after 5 months of being on wait lists and checking frequently. We start at OKW (2), AKV (2), POP (2), Riviera (2), AKV (2), AKV (3), AKV (2). These last 3 are all in the same category so I will probably be able to combine those. I was able to do it several times in the past, but do they have new rules or is it up to the discretion of the CM? Thanks for any insite.

The refillable mug will expire after 14 days of use. It doesn't matter what resorts you are staying at. A person can buy a refillable mug who doesn't have a resort reservation. If you want to keep the mug active for more than 14 days than keep your receipt and show it to the CM and ask if they can add extra days to the mug.

First if you call DVC they can combine the AKV at the end into one reservation providing it is all the same room cat.
I have seen varying dates on mugs some being more than 15 days. Our latest in August the mugs were already active meaning it was less then even 14 days My wife had to go back to teh room get the receipt and show the cashier as her mug was only active for the day we bough it.... so always hold onto the receipt. I would say while not at all a good use of time to buy the mug at AKL in case of issues.... showing all of the reservations and proof may be an issue but also may not be. The dates do not always come up on the machine but if I recall my wife's mug was active for more than 15 days once reactivated.

How much are the mugs? Been a very long time since we purchased (long before the chips were added)

TIA
Dee

They’re $19.99.

We’re coming towards the end of a 16 night stay split across four resorts so when we bought the mugs on the first day I said to my husband that we needed to hang on to the receipt to get them reactivated for the last couple of nights. We were therefore very surprised when we put them on the drinks tray and it said that they were good for refills until 10/7 - 21 days after purchase. We’re on day 15 now and they’re still working fine without us having to speak to anyone about the split stay/length of stay at any point.

Great! thank you. We don't do long stays, usually no more than 5 nights, rarely 6 so I am not sure they'd be worth it for us. I would have to do a quick cost analysis. We drink a lot of water, not much soda or tea and I bring my Starbucks coffee in the instant version for the afternoons. That being said, my DH or my kids may just want them :)

My son uses it for hot chocolate, lemonade and iced tea. But if each fountain beverage is $3.99 just 5 drinks and it pays for itself plus it is a great souvenir. You can also use it for coffee, water, powerade and hi-c.
