Good Morning,
I was looking into maybe a split stay for our June vacation to keep costs down a bit. Seems like it's impossible with the tickets and Dining plan :confused3. I really need 7 day tickets and DH loves the dining plan. Also we would like to do a 4 day/ 4 days split with a moderate/ deluxe. Does anyone know a way to make that work??

Thanks a bunch,
Nichole

Hey Nichole

In order to get the DDP I believe you have to purchase at least a one day ticket for each of you. Which really stinks when you want to do a split because the first days ticket is the most expensive. What we did was get the DDP for the first part of our trip (and it is good until midnight the day you check out of the first resort) & tried to hit the more expensive restaurants we wanted to go to and then paid OOP the second part. Do you have any PINS or are there general public discounts out for your time? Free dining was out when we went, so we used that for the first part of the trip. Plus they had room only discounts out, so we used that for the second part of the trip (the more expensive resort). We got our park tickets with the first part of our trip and got enough days to cover the entire trip.

They would be treated as separate reservations. You would need tickets on each one to get the dining plan.

I had the same problem as you. So we decided to stay at a mod first for 4 days and get a package with the DDP and 10 day tickets. Then we rented points from a DVC member for the 2nd half. With DVC you can add the DDP without having to buy park tickets. The only downfall was you couldn't prepay for the DDP you pay for it when checking in.

This might be something you could look into. Also you get deluxe accomodations at a really good price.

We did the same thing. We are staying at a value for the first 2 nights of our stay and booked the pkg with DDP for the 2 nights and park tickets for the entire length of our trip.

Then we rented points from a DVC member and are paying for that portion of the DDP when we check in at the DVC resort. Like OP stated DVC does not have to book "pkg" to get DDP.

Usually saves some money renting points too vs. booking Deluxes through Disney reservations.

Good Luck!
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for help. Maybe well only do 2 nights at the deluxe so we only have to have pay OOP on the last day of the trip. I thought about renting points too, that is such a good idea for the second half of the trip. I'll have to price it out. I might just have to keep Beach Club for the whole stay or downgrade to WL or a moderate for whole stay. Just thought it would be nice to put half our tax check into savings this year. Have to decide to spend or save
