So we are planing on going to DW next year for a total of 10 days. we Really want to try BC, but for 10 days it's just so expensive... So we were thinking about doing 3 or 4 at a Value/mod and the remainder of the trip at BC just to try and save a little money. SO do u think its worth it to do a split stay if we are going for 10 days? and do i have to make two seprate package bookings? Whats the best way to do it? Thanks for your help!!!

I really don't have an answer to your questions, sorry. :confused3

However, have you thought about renting DVC points for the BC Villas?

http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-vacation-club/BCV-Points.shtml#beachclubvillas2012 <--- That tells you how many points it would take depending on what time of year you go.

The low season is 107 points for a studio for a week. There is a verified website that rents them out for $13 per point, or you can find some people on the boards that rent out for $10-$12 per point.
107 x $13 = $1391. Once again, that's for the low season and for a week in a deluxe studio.

If you can afford it, it would be a great option, but you'd need to look into it first. For example, housekeeping doesn't come as often, and the person renting the points to you would need to make the ressie.

Have a magical trip either way you go! :cheer2:

Just fair warning that the BC is one of the most popular to use points at so it's the hardest to get. When renting points you are also locked in, so make sure those are your dates for sure.
However, I will say that I find split stays to be wonderful. You will have to have 2 different bookings, but I never found that to be an issue. You can also have the tickets added to your first resort and they can still be used when you check into your second resort. Book your first as a package and the second as room only. Last time we did a split stay we took a cab over to our next resort, but this time we will give our baggage to the bellhop and it will be sent over to our second resort (transfer time is around 4:00pm). It's a fun way to see 2 different spaces, and also when you check out of your first hotel you aren't depressed because you still have another hotel to check into ;)

I love split stays! For a trip of 10 days I think it will be great - you'll get 2 different Disney Resort experiences!

As stated before, you must book them as separate reservations, as if it were 2 different stays. On the transfer day you just check out of the 1st resort, leave your bags with bell services (they will transfer to the next resort) and either go to a park for a few hours, returning to the new resort, or go right to the new resort to check in. Both split stays we've done, the new room wasn't ready until later in the afternoon, but we choose to spend the day at the new resort relaxing until it was.

If you have a car its even easier, just check out & drive to the new resort & check in!

We usually split stay with Beach Club as our second resort. This year we are staying at the Wilderness villa for 3 nights and then hopefully to Beach Club but it is all booked so we are waiting to see if there will be any openings. For now, our second resort is AKV. We booked late this year..

Disney makes split stays easy. Once booked, you just show up at your second resort. Might have to wait for the room to be ready but they'll bring everything for you. Once, we switched from Pop (always wanted to try it!) to AKV and it was no problem.

We will be doing our first split stay this November, 3 days @ Art of Animation and 6 @ Beach Club CL. DH is not happy about the split (hates the idea of moving) and I don't think I would do it if we were staying less then 9 nights. Our reason for the split is; the boys are dying to stay in the Cars suite (I am too) but DH ONLY wants to stay at Beach Club (it's our favorite, love the entire area!) so I gave them each what they wanted;)
We had to make 2 different reservations, the first is a package w/ 10 day park tickets and we added dining (but that's only for the fist 3 days) the second is a room only (which we had a bounce back for).
My plan is to pack the first 3 days in our carry on so we don't have to fully unpack and pack up again.
Good luck with your decision:goodvibes

Just stayed at the Beach Club Villas for a week then off on the Fantasy for a 7 day eastern cruise. IT WAS WONDERFUL! :cool1: However if you are going to be staying at the Beach Club Villas, the rooms definately need to be refurbished. Sorry Disney....but the Beach Club although popular and an AWESOME POOL, is showing its age and the rooms need to be refurbished. We were told by Hotel staff they have been scheduled several times to be refurbished but have been delayed by Disney with no explanation?:confused3 We have stayed at the BC four times. All visits have been great, although until they refurbish it, we will not be staying there again. Heard the Boardwalk was redone last year and is very nice.

Beach Club being right next to Epcot is sweet, but so is the Boardwalk. BC has the better pool.

Hope you have a magical vacation!pixiedust:

We have done a split stay with as little as a 4 night trip, I wouldn't recommend it, but we did it. We don't have children, so it was no issue and we drive, so we moved our own luggage.

We did it in January at BWI/BWV for 10 days, of course they are in the same building, but I would still do it on a 10 day trip, it was just too much of a hassle for a 4 night trip.
