I came across that other members had shown that they stayed in two different resorts during one trip. How does it work in terms of transportation? We usually take advantage of the magical express from the airport since we do not have our car with us. Do people check out from one resort and then check in in another resort? Can the resort transport your baggages for you?

Thanks.

Yes, you have to check-out of the first resort and then check-in at the new resort. There is no direct Disney transportation between resorts so you would need to taxi or travel by Disney transportation to a theme park or Downtown Disney then to the second resort.

Can the resort transport your baggages for you?

Bell Services will transfer luggage between resorts at no cost (gratuities are expected if they pickup and/or drop off your luggage from your room.). They only transfer luggage once a day so it will not be available at the new resort until about 4pm.

You get two sets of DME documents in the mail-one for check-in at the first resort, another for your return transportation from the second hotel. The last couple times, when I got to DME in Orlando, they asked me about why I had no return listed on the documents to the resort (since it's a different booklet, thus a different reservation). On my change-over day, I always just dropped off my luggage at bell services on my way out to a theme park, then at the end of my theme park day, I took the bus from the theme park to my new resort.

All of our summer DVC trips have been split stays and we are doing it again this summer.

It is really easy to do as bell services can take care of things. We do take ME to/from the airport, but we like to have a car for a few days so we can go to AK, DTD, and transfer to the new resort ourselves.

What we do is end up getting one at the Dolphin the day after we arrive and then return it a few days later. It saves us money (minivan this summer is $200 instead of $600) and we have it for the day we switch resorts to help with the move.

Good luck!
