We currently have a reservation booked where the 1st night of our stay is at one resort, the subsequent nights at another due to lack of availability at one resort throughout (ASM-->POP). Today, I was able to find all 4 nights at one resort (ASM)...for approx $100 more. Thoughts on whether the aggravation & price increase is worth it. We have stayed at both previously, have a car, no kids, and we are the type who are hardly ever in the room so the actual resort doesn't factor much into it. I am just wondering if it is really that much of a convenience to lose the savings that I COULD be spending at F&W. Thanks!

With no kids and since you don't care much about the room, I'd take the savings. Doesn't seem to be a downside.

ASM more than POP? That seems odd............but given your explanation.............save the cash and keep the split. But that's me :)

I got a good deal on Orbitz for initial reservation because Disney themselves had no availability. I checked today, and Movies is available through Disney but prices out about $100 more than the Orbitz deal I got with one night at Movies, and subsequent 3 @ POP. Orbitz has nothing left in the value range for our dates.

i'd keep the split and save the money. As you said, you can use the money towards food and wine!

I personally would switch to 1 resort if it was an option. While I do like split stays, your only doing it because you couldn't do a single room and you'll have to decide if saving $100 is worth not switching your reservations. I would call before you decide, I think this is 1 situation where there is a fee added to the reservation change but it's so hard to understand the new fees for changes it's better to just ask.

I've done split stays and am familiar with the downside to them. In your case, however, I would stick with the split stay and spend the money at F & W!

Thanks for the thoughts. We have done many stays...but, never split it. If we had the kids with us I would pay the money in a second! I just feel like it cannot be that much aggravation especially since we will have a car to store our luggage in when we make the actual switch.

No kids? Keep the split. You can actually have the resort transfer your luggage to your new resort. When you call to transfer, go ahead and check out. Use your smartphone to do online check in. Then head to your park of the day. A text message will let you know what your room number is, or if you have to stop by the front desk. It is really pretty easy if you don't have a lot of packing/re-packing to do. (I just did it myself a few weeks ago...)!

We only split stay when we're coming in late at night (and stay a night at POP) or when it saves us a chunk of change. In our last trip (just got home today) - we deleted one day at Boardwalk and added it to POP. That let us upgrade Boardwalk to concierge for less than our original Boardwalk stay.
