Split stay with POR and SSR....

We will be at POR for three days in Dec and then will move over to SSR for the last 7 days of our trip with DVC. The first three days we are paying cash.

I know that we will have to do two separate dining plans and thats fine, we have made sure our meals line up so we can use them all before they run out on the day we move. But, with park tickets, we were encouraged to just get a 10 day park hopper since its gets so cheap at the end instead of getting new tickets....So how does that work with a room key being a park ticket? Will our SSR resort key carry the remainder of our 7 days of the hopper or will we have a separate ticket? We havent changed our 10 day POR package yet to only be three days.

Am I making sense?

If you buy the 10 day ticket as part of the package at POR, the ticket will be on the POR room key. You will continue to use that POR key as your admission ticket until all the days (and options) are used up or the ticket expires (if you don't get the no-expiration options).

I have heard that partially used tickets can be transferred to a new resort room key, but that the process is cumbersome, and not all CMs know how to do it. So most of the time you will be told no.

FYI, if you are getting the Dining Plan at SSR, I recommend you just deal with the admission on the POR key. I have read many reports of attempted changes (including ticket transfers) that result in DP credit problems. Very frustrating for the guest to get resolved. Some posters reported multiple attempts and much time wasted.
