Split Stay with non-DVC...DDP question??

I couldn't figure out which forum to post to, so I chose this one...

OK, so if I stay 3 nights at DVC, I can add on the Dining Plan when I check in. What happens if we check out after 3 days and then move to a non-DVC resort for 2 more nights. I can't have the DDP for those last 2 nights, right? Or is there a way for this to happen????

It's my understanding that you cannot add the DP at checkin - that is when you pay for it. It must be added beforehand.

If you are staying at a regular resort, you could probably add the DP to that reservation. Just remember you have to buy at least a 1 day park ticket too.

You can have the DDP on your nonDVC stay under the conditions of booking with CRO. Which must include at least a one day ticket for each person in your group and rack rate on the room. Unless there is a minimum of days involved which there might be? Not sure if you can get the dining package for just 2 days.

We were told we could do it only for the two days we're at a dvc resort....not for the other portions of our stay at poly/akl (because we're using points to stay at those resorts)

Yep, if you book using points you have to stay at a DVC resort to get the Dining Plan for members.

To the OP, unless Disney requires a minimum stay for the Magic Your Way package, then you can book it for your weekend. However you can use your credits until midnight on the day you check out so not sure you will really need them for your 2 night weekend.

So many have said they were stuffed and even had left over credits.

And Yes you must book the dining plan with Member Services at least 48 hours in advance, and pay when you check in.

Here's an example:

I'll have a split stay at OKW next month. 3 out of the 5 nights were booked through Member Services. Those are the nights that I can add the Disney Dining Plan to before arrival. The other two nights were purchased through CRO with my Annual Pass discount. In my case, I can't add the dining plan to that reservation because of the discounted room rate. I do have a Dining Experience Card to use for 1 day that I won't have the dining plan. As another person posted, the dining plan is good up until midnight the day of check-out, so I just need to use my DDE on the 3rd day:
