Have 4 nights booked at THV in October and need to add two more nights. THV are booked, so we're looking at doing a split stay. Can't decide where (and of course our options depend on availability which we don't know yet). Any advice?

SSR
OKW
AKL

We'd love to stick with SSR since it's where we bought and we're new DVC owners and have never stayed there, but our kids can't share a bed so one would be stuck on the floor or we'd have to spend more points for a 2 bedroom (in which case we probably should just waitlist the THV).

OKW and AKL would both accommodate the kids having their own beds in a 1 bedroom. Would probably just do standard view at AKL to save points.

This is a non-park trip, we just want to enjoy the resorts' amenities, eat some good meals, and maybe do Legoland or the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. We did the parks last Sept. so we're hoping we can resist (it's me who will have a hard time with that!).

Sounds like you already know the answer, the standard view might not be available at 7 months.

I was able to get a Kidani standard 1BR at exactly 7 months out...and that's checking in on good Friday, so don't lose hope!

AKL has some really neat activities. I would recommend doing a split stay there! We've done 2 splits that included AKL and enjoyed both, thoroughly.

Enjoy your Trip!:goodvibes

Since you aren't doing parks, I would go with AK because it will give you a completely different "flavor" than the THV. I love doing split stays!

I vote for AKV as we're doing the THV and AKV too. AKV is a fabulous resort.

I'd go with AKV. A much different feel from where you are starting out.

I would go with AKV too! Lots of things to do, and even in Jambo a 1 bedroom standard would have the sleeper chair, even though only the 1 master bath, but OKW would have only the one bath as well!

Another vote for AKV because it's so different. The pool at Kidani has a wonderful water play area. And the Community Hall has great activities for the kids.
