We are doing a split stay at AK and BC in June with DVC points and I would like to know what happens with the keycards used to get into our room. We bought park tickets separately and will add them to the keycards when we arrive as we usually do. What happens when we move to BC with the keycards? Will we get new ones or use the old ones to get into our new room? I am concerned that we might have to buy new park tickets since they will be associated with our first set of keycards at AK. We are staying 6 days at AK and 2 at BC and plan to spend 2 days of our trip at Universal Studios.

You will get new key cards.

You will definitely NOT have to buy new tickets. :thumbsup2 Once you get your new key cards for your BC room, head over to the Concierge Desk. Give the CM there the key cards from your AKL stay and ask them if they can remove the tickets/entitlements from those key cards and put them on your new BC cards. Depending on the skill of the CM and how the computer system is behaving at the moment, they will have no problems. If for some reason they can't move them over, you will need to use the key cards from AKL to gain entry to the parks and use the BC key cards to get into your room. Only one time did we have to use the 2 key card method and I just used a marker from the Concierge Desk and put a T on the cards with our tickets so we knew which was which.

See, I just wouldn't have them put on the keycard in the first place. Sounds annoying to me, to have to switch them out or use old keycards. I'd rather just have the proper keycard and the ticket media.

Last year we switched resorts and we had the first resort card loaded so we had to keep both cards with us. It was no big deal but once the granddaughter had the wrong card with her. Now we know better and I think Dansdad had a good idea to mark the cards. - Especially when we are going to change 3 times in August. (No I'm not nuts - just last time I will be able to be at WDW and finally going to stay at deluxe)

Do not put your tickets on your keycard. Keep them separate. It's really not a big problem to have to carry both. You will get a new set of keycards at the second resort.
