Split stay: weird ME process

For our Nov trip (10-18), I booked Fri night at POR (through dis reservations) and am moving to BWV for Sat to Sat. I called MS to book ME and was told to call disney reservations. I called Disney reservations today and they said they could book my arrival day. But, MS needed to book my return flight. :confused3

I did book the arrival through Disney reservations. I will book the return through MS tomorow. But, I wonder if there will be problems since the two will not be linked.. Since I'm also flying a partner airline, I'd like to be able to check my bags on the return.

Anyone else had this experience?

On a side note, it must be a slow week since I was also able to get all of my ADRs and there were lots of choices/times to pick from.

Yes, I recently had this exact type of experience, I think, as you're describing. My first night is at a non-DVC resort (AKL), then transferring to BCV and returning home from there. I got two DME packets, about a week apart. The first one had yellow tags showing me arriving at AKL, but no departure info. I never got around to calling MS to ask about it, and a week later, I got a whole separate packet with more yellow tags showing my departure from BCV but no arrival info. The good news is that I have 2 coupons for free pins. The irony is that I'm planning to bring my luggage with me, so I'm not using any of the (now) 4 tags.

I did a split stay with 2 different ME tags...and booklets. No problem. Just besure to take off you ME tags off your suitcase when you are having your luggage transfered(to prevent a possible confusion).

I am at OKW first, then POR and when I called MS they booked my arrival via ME and said to call the main Disney ME # for my return which is what I did. Was told to expect two different envelopes in the mail. Used ME last Nov. (not a split stay) and it was better than perfect for my arrival...the return was not so smooth but it still worked out fine. Hard to find too much fault with a free service.

A year ago, we checked into BCV first, then moved over to POR for the final two nights of our mother/daughter trip. MS booked us both ways. When I called MS to book our arrival at MCO, she asked about departure day from BCV. I told her we were transferring over to POR for the final two nights so would call CRO to do the departure on DME. She told me 'Oh, you don't need to do that. I can do it for you right now.' I think I got lucky!!

Thanks for all of the replies. :thumbsup2

I called MS today and booked ME for my departure. The CM did confirm that they book the ME for the point stays and Dis Reservation books ME for their stays.
