I have been gone for a couple of years, but am back again.

Anyway, I hope this is the right place to ask this and I hope it makes sense...

We have a timeshare in Orlando, only 1 mile from DW. We usually stay there about 5 days and then go on-site and stay for 5 days. We have gotten a FD pin code and would love to use it, but I'm not sure how to get around needing a 7 day ticket that would start when we 1st get there and are staying in the condo. Is there a way just to buy one 1-day tickets w/ the free dining? But how would that work b/c don't you need your ticket to access the credits for your FD?

**Also, we will be renting 2 rooms when we stay on-site for the extra room...I plan on doing a room only reservation for that.**

Financially, you'd be better off doing the free dining stay at the beginning of your trip and then moving offsite to the condo after. That way you can just buy tickets for your full length of stay up front rather than buying extra tickets later in order to qualify for the promotion.

You have to buy minimum of 2 day MYW tickets to qualify for the free dining promotion.

If you're doing a room only reservation for the second room then it'll probably be easier to actually add a ticket and matching dining plan to that room as well so that everybody in your family will have a dining plan. You can't list somebody in 2 rooms so the person on that second reservation will not have the dining plan from the room with free dining.

FD requires a 2-day MYW base ticket. If you need a 7-day pass at the very beginning of your trip then you must purchase it separately in addition to the 2-day pass required for FD.

Another option;

You are allowed to pick up park tickets from a package up to 3 days in advance of resort checkin. You can pick them up at any Guest Relations booth outside the parks/DTD. They will come in the form of paper tickets. This will cover at least 3 days of your off-site stay, but not the very beginning.

Upon FD resort checkin, your KTTW card will contain your room key, dining credits, and park tickets (*depending on if you pick them up early or not).

*Please note, if you choose to pick up park tickets early you may or may not be able to transfer them onto your KTTW card upon checkin.

Thanks! I didn't even think about the issue w/ the 2 rooms. There are only 4 of us, but the kids are getting older and 1 motel room (especially POP-where we were thinking of staying) just doesn't get it anymore.

We like staying onsite better at the end, it's nice to end the trip actually at DW. I have thought about staying the whole time onsite. The condo is just super nice and we have already paid the fees on it this year, so I hate to not use it there.

Another question now, can I reserve 2 rooms w/ a FD pin and cover everyone? (1 adult, 1 child in each room)

I believe you can book up to 3 rooms using a single pin code but these things seem to change. Since you're one family I would think that you could. Call and find out. I believe the answer will be yes.

I just booked 3 rooms under my FD pin. Unfortunately I may have to cancel one...I think my sister may have changed her mind :(

As other posters have pointed out you need to purchase at least a two day ticket to utilize the free dining pin. That would be so expensive instead of using the first week on site and getting the 7 day tickets for your entire trip then.

We also have a timeshare right outside WDW. We used to do the on site at the end but prefer it at the beginning. We find we are running around a lot more when we are on site and the rooms are so much smaller. We like looking forward to the larger accommodations at the end of the trip, along with some R&R from all the running around.

Good luck with your decision.
