Split stay/Vehicle question

We are doing our first split stay, as we are staying at All Star Movies for the 1st night (we arrive late that afternoon) - before moving over to the Polynesian for a couple of days in July. We are driving our own car. How long are we able to keep the car at All Star Movies? Or, would we be able to park it at the Polynesian on the first day so it's there when we check out? Was not sure what the options are.

Sorry, I left out a piece of the issue. We plan to be in the park the next day and have them bring our bags over, leaving them at desk when we check out. We won't be back till the evening.

We have done several split stays and usually put as a priority early check in so most times could get into our room when we drove over early before going to a park and loved that our bags were there since we brought them ourselves and did not have to worry about if bell services took care if it and where everything is.

Which park? If you're heading to MK I would just bring the stuff and car to Poly, stash stuff there and head to the park. Actually, I'd do that no matter what park you're visiting; having stuff and car there at the proper resort is lovely.

We will be at Animal Kingdom that day. I was focused on the shorter bus ride from All Star but that does make sense! Thanks y'all

I would pack the trunk, drive to AK in the car, then drive to the Polynesian after you're done in the park. Why deal with busses and luggage transfers when you have a much simpler way available?

Brilliant! All this time I thought everyone paid to park at the parks, but I just looked it up to see the cost. Had NO idea it was free to resort guests. Totally doing this. Thank you!

Only problem with putting your luggage in the car is that it can get VERY hot in the car depending on the time of year. Don't have anything that can melt.

2 options.
1. Pack your luggage in your car and dirve to AK. Then to Poly that night.
2. Have disney pick up your luggage and take it to Poly for you. I would drive to AK and then to Poly that night.
The main difference if you want to take your luggage or have Disney move it.
I wouldn't go directly to Poly with your car the morning you check out. Most people want to get to AK for RD to increase their odds of getting to FoP. Driving to Poly and then taking the bus would work, but you would have to Poly very early depending on when AK opens. Unless you were not planning to be there at RD.

Make sure you check out of Movies before you leave that resort. Disney IT isn't the greatest and you could have problems when you try to check into the Polynesian. You could drive over to the Polynesian after you check out of Movies, leave your luggage with Bell Services and then drive over to AK. Drive back to the Polynesian when you are done at the AK and either pick up your stuff from Bell Services or ask them to deliver it to your new room. You can also check into the Polynesian when you arrive in the morning so you don't have to do that when you get back to the resort.

Using your own car will be so much easier than riding the bus to and from AK.

You'll need to call Bell Services when you get back to the resort and you'll need to be in the room to have them delivered to your room. Don't plan on anything being delivered before 4PM or so, maybe later.

Thanks - we won't need anything as we're planning that to be an evening of pool time at the Poly for us (we'll bring our swimsuits in the car so they're readily accessible).

Could we just ask Bell Services to leave at the desk, instead of delivering to room though? (That way we could get whenever we wanted?)

They will leave your bags in the storage area for Bell Services, not at the front desk. You'll need to talk to Bell Services if they can bring them out for you from the store room. They usually look at this as an opportunity for a tip.
