Split stay - transfer of laptops

We will be staying at the CBR for 3 nights and then transferring on Sunday to the Poly for 4 nights. I know that the CBR will transfer our luggage to the POLY, but we will have 2 laptops with us and I feel uneasy about letting them transfer those also. After we checkout of the CBR, should we go directly to the POLY by bus with our laptops and checkin knowing that the room won't be available yet? Will they take our laptops and put them someplace secure until our room is ready? Also, when the room is ready, will the put our luggage into the room for us or do we have to call bell services once we get into the room?

pack the laptops in the luggage and lock the luggage. if you bring them separately they will be stored in the same place as the luggage anyway. can't guarantee a safe will be available

when you return to get your keys they will let bell services know and your your luggage will be delivered then or soon after. they won;t stikc yoru stuff in a room until it is certain that that will actually be your room.

This is what we do. We pack our lap top in our luggage and place a TSA combo lock on the suitcase. This way all of our stuff is together and no one has to know that you have a lap top at all. We have done this many times.

Thanks...I Guess we can do that too......not really sure if they will fit though...and I worry about the luggage getting tossed around.

I completely understand what you are saying. Maybe when you go to the Poly you can ask bell services to see if they have a secure area (cage) for the lap tops. We have never stayed at the Poly so I don't know if they do. Have a great trip.

Or you can do just as you suggested and bring the laptops to the resorts yourself. They will store them in a secure location - the same place your luggage will be stored when it gets there. Then you can check in. Your room most likely won't be ready but you will get your key cards and they can text you or leave you a voice message with the room number when it is ready so that you don't even have to return to the front desk. If you don't have a cell phone they will give you a number to call from so that you can get the room number also. They will not deliver any luggage or items you left until you are in your room and call for it.

When we do split stays we always go to the second resort and check in early.

Note that there are no busses that go directly from CBR to Poly but you probably know that.

We didn't have BS move our stuff, but we had them store it while switching resorts (we either drove to the new resort and gave stuff to BS, or gave it to the "old" resort, went on with our day, then drove back to get it later). And each resort we stayed in had a cage to keep valuables. Just tell them that you have something like that, and they'll bring special tags.

I don't see why they can't keep them in the secure cage in one spot then move it over to another cage at the new place.

We just had to deal with this in May. We switched resorts 3 times so I cant remember which one it was at.

My dh laptop belongs to the govt. and he is not allowed to leave it with anyone. It must be in a locked room etc. with as little access as possible. So when our room was not ready we had to lug the thing around the parks with us. All I can say is I am glad I had the wheelchair as we kept it in there alot.

The security guy asked what is in there and dh had to show him the laptop when we went into epcot.
