Can anyone help me here?

We are doing 3 nights at WDW, quickie stop after a beach wedding...

I have 3 nights booked at AKV, night 1 is in a SV studio, nights 2 and 3 are in a Value Studio (worked out perfect for 49 points I had to work with)..

What I am wanting do to is book the deluxe dining plan for the first 2 nights and then no dining plan for the last night as that final day we are doing Sea World..

So 3 nights

#1- SV studio /DP
#2- Value Studio/ DP
#3- Value Studio w/ no DP

Can I do that?? Will I now need to "check-in" each morning?

Moving between rooms can be a pain in the backside! As for the dining plan, I have never gone over the regular dining plan. We find that this is more than enough to eat each day. We once talked with another guest who was on the deluxe plan and said it was way too much to eat and the meals were wasted each day.

The dining plan also goes by the number of nights you are staying. So with staying three nights, you would have the number of meals in the Deluxe plan x3. I do not believe they will let you book night 3 without the plan.

In order to do it for night 2, you will have to ask the the two nights in the studio are segmented.

Basically, you will have a different segment for each night. This means, you will have to go down to the desk every day.

Since you are moving rooms after night 1, you would have to do that anyway. There have been reports that there are still some issues with credits being deactivated on the check out/in day and guests having to go to the front desk to get it fixed.

But, what you want is possible. Just give MS a call and tell them you want a segmented trip so you can have a split dining plan.

We are doing that in August. We are staying 2 nights at BWV and getting the DxDDP for night 1. We are then moving to BLT for 3 nights and doing the DxDDP again for night 1 of that stay.

Hopefully, it will go over well!

Just for my own clarification -- do my DDP credits have to split up if I'm changing rooms, or are you saying they don't? I'm doing 4 nights in Jambo, 2 nights in Kidani (because of availability) and was hoping that I could just have a solid 6 night DDP and not have to use all the credits for for the first 4 nights before moving into Kidani. Should I be able to transfer the leftover credits from the first 4 nights onto the second part of our trip?

Thanks a lot! :worship:

You will have to check out and back in each day. We have a current six day stay on one contract and a single night on a second contract. No dining at all. We will have to get new cards on the morning of our last night (single night). I never had to do that before.

So will I get 6 meal credits and 4 snack credits for the 2 nights? Or 3 meal credits and 2 snack credits for each night?

You will get three TS credits for the first reservation. They expire at midnight of the day you check out. You get three more for the second reservation. They expire the same way.

So you will have all six to use on the start of Day 2 if you don't use any on day 1.

Since you are moving rooms, the credits from the first set at Jambo will expire at midnight on the move day to Kidani.

It will not be one seamless plan so you will have to plan it out. We have done this before (when switching resorts) and what helped is to bring a Sharpie marker and mark the card from the first stay to ensure that is the one we used so we didn't lose any credits.

Thanks

Will the card for the first night still work still work until midnight of day #2 even if we check out/check in early on day #2??

Right now, our ADR's are

Day #1- Ohana
Day #2- CP, Plaza, WCC
Day #3- CM, Sanaa

So on day 2, CP and Plaza will be on night ones card, but we can check in anytime?

And another question, we wouldn't do it because we have a big tote of old mugs we never use, but could we get two sets of mugs?

Yes, the credits from the first stay SHOULD work until midnight of that 2nd day. However, there have been a few reports that things were deactivated and a call by the restaurant to the resort was needed--or, in some cases, people had to pay and then have go to the resort desk and have it removed and the DDP charged.

As far as mugs, you do get them for each one. We did a split stay between 3 resorts in 2009 and had the QSDP for the first and last resort--ending up with 8 mugs.

Since we are doing the DxDDP two different segments this August, we will end up with 14 (7 of us going!). My DD has a friend who is going so we told her she could have mine 2nd one to take to her brother and my Aunt is going to take hers and my DD's to give to her two grandchildren. So, it is a nice way to get some great gifts!
