Split Stay, Same Room?

I am considering revising my current ressie and splitting it into two separate ressies to better take advantage of the summer promotions. I've done the math and am pretty sure my family would get more value out of the summer dining promotion of one free QS per day, but it doesn't begin until 5/30, and we're checking in the 28th. I'm currently booked from the 28th on, using the room discount rate at POP.

So if I call and revise my ressies what I'd like to do is\

1.) First ressie from 28th-30th using the room discount

2.) second ressie from 30th-end of trip with the dining discount

Is there a way to request the same room for both ressie's so I don't have to pack the family up and potentially move across the resort to a different room on the 30th?

Before you call and revise, if you haven't already done so, I would go online and see if, what you want to book, is actually available. If it is and you revise your booking, just make sure you are in the same room category for both stays. When you check in, go to the front desk and tell them you have a continuing reservation and would like to stay in the same room. You will still have to check-out and check back in on your reservation switch day, but, if you booked the same room category, chances are high you will not have to move.

We have done it in the past and have not had to move but they are always careful to tell you that you must be prepared to move! Be extra sure to book exactly the same room category and have the CM note the request to remain in the same room on your reservation. Go to the front desk when you check in for the first reservation and speak to them as well about the request. Then on the 30th when you checkout and then check in try and do this as early as you can and make sure the CM understands what your asking.

We always do a mini pack up, clean up the day prior to that checkout / check in day just in case but so far we haven't had to move.
