Our son is planning on getting married at the Swan/Dolphin resort. Although we would really like to stay there, we really don't want the hassle of dealing with transportation and luggage to and from the resort. Had this idea and just wanted some feedback...what about booking at a disney resort for a few days, then transfer to Swan for the day before and of the wedding, and then transferring back to a disney resort. Any suggestions or ideas?

Typically I would tell you to go with the stay at one of the Disney resorts. With your son getting married at S&D though (and assuming key activities will be there) I guess I would suggest avoiding the hassle and splurge for a Mears limo in and out.

Good Luck with the wedding! :goodvibes

Can you stay at the Boardwalk?.....then you'd be right next door! Even the Yacht Club wouldn't be too far of a walk, for that matter.

ETA: If you are doing a room-only deal, then do the split-stay if you wish. If you are doing a package, split stays are a pain in the neck. As far as Disney is concerned, you are booking a separate trips with each hotel.

For me, the trouble of having to hire a car and gather my own luggage at the airport, would be far less than having to pack up and move 2 times.

I personally would book at Boardwalk or Beach Club/Yacht Club and either stay there the whole time since it is so close to the Swan or if the moving really doesn't bother you, at least you are close for the moves and it would be less stressful.

A move to the Swan/Dolphin and a move back to a WDW resort? Not for me. I agree that it's much less hassle to get the luggage and book a town car than two moves.
