Split Stay Poly/BWI-need help

Were doing our first onsite stay with the kids from 11/25 to 12/2 this year ... a surprise trip for my oldest son's senior year. We decided to split stay, mostly based on room availability when we booked .... but I think its going to be great. 5 nights at a 1 BDR BWV, then 2 at Polynesian Club Level. Itll give us time to just sit and enjoy each area.

The only issue you will have is with ADRs. You can only book at 180 days from the first resort including switch day and then have to wait until 180 days of the second resort to make the rest. We have done several split stays and it was a good experience. We travel every few years and try to stay at a different resort each time so it gave us the opportunity to experience several hotels in 1 trip. We rent a car because we do 1 or 2 other area attractions so we moved our own luggage.
Thanks for the info on the ADRs and 180 days. I didn’t think of that!

That sounds like a great trip!! Enjoying each area for a little bit it just what we were wanting too.

I hope you have a wonderful trip! What a nice surprise for your son.

He better enjoy it ! Seriously - the kids would never believe we'd pull them out of school for "fun" or stay on property, so they're going to be shocked when we get to the airport and it turns out our quick trip to Chicago to see family is heading south, not west.

I understand all the posts about wanting to stay put, but changing rooms mid trip is really not a big deal - especially when Disney will move your bags for you. I figure this way, we can do DHS/Epcot/AK from BWV, and then nothing but MK for and enjoying Polynesian for the end of the trip. I hate buses so we were going to rent a car for the trip, but when I figured out our daily plans, I figure the few times we need to shuttle to/from a different location, we can just take Minnie Vans or Uber and it will be cheaper than driving ourselves (plus no worries about having a cocktail and getting near a car).

Hope your trip is great too ! I'm sure it will be.
