We are going to be spending Christmas at Disney ( I know....) and we already have out reservations (12/20-28) at Kidani but we were hoping to switch to BWV or BCV the last half or even the first part for closer access to EPCOT but not sure what our chances are at the 7 month window. Hoping if I get on first thing I might get something...
I cannot believe that is one of the few times of year we have never been and I have heard...how busy it gets, so I'm not holding out much hope..
Has anyone been able to do this at Christmas?

I was able to get BLT at the 7 month mark for Christmas week 2009 (actually 12/18 - 12/30). I was not able to get 12/30-1/1 and had to switch resorts (to AKV, my home resort for which I made a resie at 11 months). So, it is *possible*.

I had a similar situation, although it was 2008. At 7 months, we were able to get most of our nights at the Beach Club Villas over Christmas/New Year's. We did have to use the wait list, and in the end I think 3 nights never came through. We moved to a regular cash room at the Beach Club Resort for one night in the middle and then back to the Villas, then changed to the Villas on cash for our last 2 nights (which were New Year's Eve and the night before). It was kind of a hodge podge from what I recall.

The PP discussed moving to AKV - that would be easier than BCV just by sheer number of rooms.

Edited: now that I think about it, those last few nights at BCV on cash were added as an afterthought much closer to our trip - so it was really one 1 night that didn't come through using the wait list.

Call me deluded but I think that if you are flexible you will get something, though it may require a wait list. If you want standard or BW view at BWV, that might be tough, but if you are open to pool/garden view at BWV that makes it easier. Since BCV has no categories, that might also be possible. If you wanted the whole reservation switched over, it would be harder but if you only need 4 days at either end of your reservation and are willing to wait list then I think you will be successful.
