Anyone ever split their stay at an offsite hotel for days they will be in the parks all day? And then stay at one of the "official" hotels when they want to stay around the resort? Or is it worth the hassle to move?

Never been to Disneyland and trying to justify the Disneyland Hotel rate of $187.00 a night (AAA discount) with Candy Cane Inn rate of around $75.00 a night. How close is Candy Cane Inn to Disneyland? Is Candy Cane Inn very far from Disneyland Hotel?

Decisions, decisions, :-)

Candy Cane is about a 10 minute walk to get to the entrace of DL/DCA/DD.

We did this last year. We did it primarily becasue the first day we were coming in so late we couldn't justify the cost.

You might try expedia for your rooms as the days grow closer they have good prices (better the closer you get) and a 4th night free deal.....

Expedia.....search Disneyland after you link there

We did this last summer and ended up liking the Candy Cane Inn better. The walk to DD is only a few minutes. The DL Hotel pool was so crowded I couldn't stand being there!

Here is an accurate map. http://www.geocities.com/ashpsyche/DisneylandLinkMap.html
Candy Cane Inn is on the same Block as the parks and practicaly backs up against DCA. It is a 5-7 minute walk.

On this link to aphoto the Candy Cane is not labeled but it is the U shaped place above the four Points and Holiday Inn Express.
I personally love the DL hotel but the Candy Cane is a excellent replacement accomodation if you can't do the whole trip at the DLH.

Candy Cane Inn is a very high quality hotel. It is 2 street lights from DL or a fifteen minute walk away. The hotel is so nice though, the continental breakfast is amazing while you chill eating by the pool! An alternative is the carousel inn acorss the street from DL. An overall fair room, a great breakfast room (but not much selection) and its five minutes away from DL. Your choice is a convienence across the street or fifteen minute walk to eat a great breakfast while relaxing by a pool.

It took us about 5 minutes from the Candy Cane to the front gates. 2 adults and a 13 year old. Maybe we walk fast!
