We are going down for a meeting and staying in a Disney Springs area hotel for 3 nights. We want to add 2 nights on property to the trip. Are there any benefits to adding the on property stay to the beginning of the trip? We will purchase parks tickets for 5 days.

The only advantage I can think of would be if you add the Disney portion on the front, link that reservation and your tickets to your MDE account, then you'll be able to make FP reservations for all 5 days at the 60 day mark. If you do it the other way, you only have a 30 day window for FP during the first 3 day stay, but you'll be able to make then at 60 days for the last 2 days.

You also get a free magic band for onsite stays that you can also use during the off site stay (for entry and FP's). For me, sitting in a conference with Disney just steps away would be torture - even if I could still go in the evenings. Better to get two full days of theme park fun (and exhaustion) in before having to sit and listen.

If you book offsite > onsite and link separate tickets (don't purchase a package), when your FP Booking window opens 60 days before check-in, it will include all of your offsite park days in that open window.

Onsite > offsite means you have to wait until 60 days out from each offsite park day to book your offsite FPs.

Split Stay info is in the FP FAQ thread.

Moving you to the FP forum.

OK, I'm still a little confused. I booked our room tonight for 2 nights but got 5 day tickets. Was this a mistake? We will be going to the parks while staying offsite before our onsite stay. When will I be able to book FP and dining reservations for the 3 days of offsite stay? Is that 30 days out? Will our MB work before our onsite stay? I've only stayed onsite so offsite is confusing me!

So, you purchased your tickets as part of a package before you read this thread?

If yes (a package), then you won't be able to book FPs for those offsite days until you arrive at a WDW Ticket Window and activate your tickets. The first poster in this thread posted incorrect info.

Your MBs will work when you arrive at the parks.
