Split Stay/Non disney resort/hotels

I read alot about split stays from people that are staying at disney resorts but not too much about non disney split stays. That is what I want to do. Going in less than 3 weeks and I cancelled last minute at regal palms, a couple of things I just didnt like after more research. But anyways we booked 4 nights and 5 days at orange lake for the last part of our trip , for the first 3 days I havent found anything yet...but there is a auction on ebay for WBC wyndham bonnet creek, 3 nights, 389>? Thats good right? I am kinds liking the idea of a split stay, gives me the oppurtunirty to try something new while allowing me to return to my orange lake where I usually stay and feel comfortable. Just want to see if others have done this and pros/cons? thanks
