Hi all! I am soooo excited to be returning to DLR next weekend- my first time back at DCA since OBB in September, and first time at DL since Christmastime 2018!!! We live in LA, so we'll be driving down on Friday the 20th and spending our first night at the Westin Anaheim (non-park day) and then spending the 21st and 22nd at GCH with 2-day park hoppers, with one final pool day at GCH on the 23rd before checkout. Just a few hotel questions I'd love your feedback on!
- If you've stayed at the Westin, is it worth allocating our Friday afternoon to spending time on property at the pool, restaurants, etc? I was planning on us heading to Downtown Disney for lunch and shopping right after check-in, but the Westin does look beautiful. Since we're only there the one day, I'm wondering if we should spend it there instead and save DD for our Monday checkout day? Another option is to just do dinner at the Westin after DD- I've booked their rooftop restaurant.
- For GCH, I ended up saving quite a bit by making two separate reservations: the first night in a standard room booking direct with the Spring Into Savings discount, and the second by booking a woods/courtyard view room with Undercover Tourist. I definitely don't want to switch rooms at the GCH though, especially after already making it a split-stay at the Westin, so my plan was to call the hotel and ask them to combine the reservations and keep us in one room. My question is whether I should ask for the standard or courtyard/woods room for both nights? I would assume courtyard/woods is better, but since it was priced lower than the standard rooms, I wondered if it's smaller in size or if there's another reason it might be considered a lesser room?
- We haven't stayed at GCH in forever, it's been mostly DLH for us, so we're really excited to be back. Anything we should know about/request or other musts?
Thank you soo much!!
