I have a 2 fold question. We are staying 2 nights at AKL and then going to BWV. On the day we check out of AKL, we are going to Legoland. So we need a rental car. How do I go about getting one? How long will it take? We have ressies at Boma that morning at 8:00am, and would like to be on the road to LL by 9:00.
My other question is do you think it would be best to take all our luggage in our rental car with us to LL?
When we return, can we go straight to BWV and turn in our rental car there?
I am confused about this whole process.
Thanks!!!!

With that morning time frame - you are going to need to rent one on the day before. You can do that at the Car Care Center on property. Not going to be cheap, but c'est la vie.

You COULD have Disney transfer your luggage, but if you don't have anything that needs to be temperature controlled, I'd just put it in the car in the morning. Go to Legoland, check in and drop off your stuff at BWV, and then return the car if it's not too late.

Not sure how long your trip is, but you could also look for a deal on a car for the entire trip. That would give you the freedom to go to the grocery store, too. You CAN get deals on cars! The most expensive rate for a car is usually the short 1-2 day rental.

We changed resorts mid-trip last trip and had a car. We put stuff in the car in the morning, drove over to the new place expecting to be leaving stuff with bell services (we had food that needed to be kept cold) as we didn't expect them to have a room ready. Shockingly, they did have a room and we dropped off our stuff in the room. It took us a hour to load the car, drive to new resort, check in, and drop off at the new resort.

As previously mentioned you can rent a car from the Customer Car Center Code: (ORLR72). Both Alamo and National rent from there. They provide a complimentary shuttle pick up and drop off service, so one of your party can go get the car then come back and pick you up in the rental, they should plan around 45 min - 1 hour to rent the car. It could be quicker or longer, but depends on how many other pick-ups they need to make and which resorts they go to before arriving at the CCC. From what I can tell, it looks like they open at 6:00 am most morrnings, but I would double check that by calling Alamo or National direct. You can save time if you register (free) to be an Alamo Insider and use the Kiosk. Seems like no one uses the kiosk, everyone heads for the counter - so kiosk is quicker. If your "days" line up between Thurs and Mon. you might be able to get one of Alamo's weekend rate deals - but you need a Sat. night stay. Currently it's $20 a night. I've done this several times from AKL and it is very easy. If the person picking up the car arranges a pick-up (again double check) by 6:15am they should be back in time for the 8:00 Boma ADR. I would take my luggage and drop off at the next hotel - i.e. wouldn't leave in the car. If your room isn't ready, you can leave with the bellman or as previously suggested use Disney to transfer your luggage to the next Disney hotel. Just be advised that you might not get your luggage right away, that is why I prefer to do it myself. Hope this answered your questions.
