Split stay, MYW tickets, and DDP?

I'm not sure if I'm posting this on the right forum so if I'm wrong, sorry.

We are thinking of doing a split stay. The first part of our stay would be at a rented timeshare at BLT, because of a super rate, so I know we can't get tickets or DDP with this. After 4 nights we would stay on property and get tickets and the DDP.

My question is how early can you get your tickets or be able to use your DDP credits? Would it be the same day as checkin or can you access them early?

You can pick up your tickets up to 3 days before you check in for the package. However you cannot use your dining credits until you check in for your package.

There's a ticket sticky under theme park strategies that has information about picking up the theme park tickets early.

Curious--Are you saying you are renting from a DVC owner at Bay Lake Tower? If that is the case, you can purchase the dining plan.

All DVC stays can purchase the dining plan. The person who owns the reservation (DVC member or if through RCI the RCI member) has to call member services and pay for it at the time it is added. Hopefully if you rented you went through a DVC member as RCI rental are not allowed- although a family member can gift you a stay this way.
