For our trip this coming November we are staying at BLT for 4 nights on rented DVC points and then AKV-Kidani for 5 nights on our own points. There are 12 of us so we're talking a decent amount of luggage. Will bell services move our luggage for us or will we have to do it ourselves? I'm fine with doing it - I figured the two dads would handle it in a cab or two while the rest of the family is enjoying the parks but then I got to wondering...

Bell services will handle your baggage for you and make sure it arrives at your new resort for you. They do a rather nice job of it.

That (as I lay here nursing a recently ruptured L5 disc and contemplating the possibility of surgery) is fantabulous news. Thank you.

Just drop off your bags in the morning, check out and go to the parks that day.

When you finish, go to your new resort and call and bell services will deliver the bags.

If you choose to have bell services move your bags, be prepared to not see them again until late in the afternoon. I have read reports where people using this service have not received their bags at the new resort until 6 p.m. The average time seems to be 4-5 p.m. If your room isn't ready, it's not a big deal. However when we did a split stay at BLT followed by BCV, our villa at the BC was ready at 11:30 a.m. and I was soooo glad we had brought our luggage with us in a cab, so I could unpack and settle in rather than having to wait for it. But, there were only 4 of us so it was only 2 bags. Have fun! :goodvibes

WOW! You are soooo lucky! If I ever had a room ready for me at 11:30 am, Disney or ANYWHERE, I think I would play the lottery :rotfl2: That NEVER happens to me. I'm always the one that gets their room right at the check in time or not too much beforehand. Maybe my luck will change this year LOL

One thing we did last summer--when we had 12 bags to move--was to keep some things (swimsuits, etc.) with us and sent the rest.

Then we went to BLT (our 2nd resort) and checked those things with bell services ourselves so that if we got back from the park and wanted to swim, we would have what we needed if our other bags were not there yet.

Don't be too envious... it has only happened that one time, and I'm pretty sure it was b/c we were in a studio. Typically we wait until 3:30-4 for our room to be ready.

That's our plan - now. Moving day is also break from the parks/swim day. So we'll pack up, check out of BLT, drop off most bags at Bell Svcs, take what we need for swimming, late breakfast at Chef Mickey then head to AKV (via circuitous but free Dis transportation) to check in and swim til room is ready.

Thanks for advice all.
