Split Stay Magic Band Issue

Quick note in case anyone is doing a split stay. We checked into Port Orleans on Sunday and transferred to Yacht Club yesterday. When we checked in to Port Orleans the person at registration told us our magic bands were all active and all we needed to do was go to the park on Monday. We got up around 5:45 on Monday so we would be some of the first into Magic Kingdom (for morning EMH) and be able to ride 7 Dwarfs but when we got to the turnstile our magic bands were not activated, so we had to go to guest services and get them activated then go back to the end of the entry line and it was close to 8 before we got in the park and already a 30+ minute wait for 7 Dwarfs so we skipped it. Still got to do Space Mountain and Buzz and grab breakfast before park opening at 9 so wasn't a terrible morning. Oh, and when they checked us out of Port Orleans and we hadn't checked in to Yacht Club our credit card was de-linked from the magic bands, so meaning we could use our DDP credits with the magic bands but didn't have any charging privileges until we checked in to Yacht Club later on Monday (even though I'd previously done online check-in) and added the credit card back.

Things can happen even without two+ stays during a trip. Glitches like the cc coming off of the account happened to me multie times before we had anything called MDE (back when it was just "my account").

Unfortunately, things like that do happen, even without a split stay. We almost always do split stays, and have had issues like what you're describing above, and have had no issues at all on other trips. A lot of it depends on what the CM does at check in and how knowledgeable they are. And sometimes it's just a glitch: Our last stay was not a split, and our bands stopped working for the room on our last night. Fun times heading back to reception at 1 a.m. at SSR on foot following a park-open to park-close day...
