Hi.
We are staying at AoA for 2 nights before heading to poly and staying at one of their dvc( not sure that this matters for my question but it might). We want to get to AK at rope drop the day we check out of AoA but we have a 5:15pm ADR for 1900 park fare so want to be back to the poly to check in and shower and get my daughters princess dress on before dinner. What are the chances our luggage will be in our room by say 4pm if we hand it over to AoA around 7am? Or should my husband find transportation to poly and drop it off with their bell services and meet us at AK? If he does that, is there free transportation when doing split stays? Thanks!

When Disney transfers luggage between resorts, I think the time frame to expect your luggage at the 2nd resort is around 3-5pm. It could get there earlier (or later) depending on how busy they are, but there's no guaranteed time of delivery. If your DH wants to take the luggage over that morning, he will have to do something like Uber, Minnie van, etc as luggage is not allowed on the buses. When you check in and get your room, you can call bell services from your room to have them deliver it (someone must be in the room for them to deliver). You can also retrieve it yourself from bell services. Keep in mind that your room might not be ready by 4pm.

Thanks for the reply. So what would you do? Take the chance and have them deliver it in the morning and just have dd bring her dress to the park with us? I’m thinking that’s probably easier than having my dh run around

Let them transfer the luggage for you and carry what you need into the park. We did that when going from pop to then contemporary and we went to typhoon lagoon for the day and just rented a locker, got to our room around 3:30 and our luggage was there, but I was glad we had the change of clothes just in case.

Be aware, that DVC rooms are generally NOT available for check in before 4pm, and frequently much later. You can't count on having a room before your ADR.

Luggage transfers happen across all resorts in a coordinated move that begins at 1pm. Typically, luggage will arrive at the new resort around 3 - but it can easily be between 4 and 5 on some days.

You're welcome! The easiest/most convenient would probably be as you suggest. Just have bell services transfer your luggage and take whatever you need for later with you to the park. That would save your DH from having to run around in the morning and you can go straight from AK to the GF for dinner. Have a great trip :wizard:.

We are not park people much anymore. When we switch hotels I either check out as late as possible from first, Uber bags to new resort, check them with bell services and head to pool. Or if we are going to DS or maybe a character breakfast I’ll drop them off for Disney transfer. I’ve always gotten them in early afternoon.

Thanks. That’s why I figured I’d tell people we are staying dvc just in case it was different.

The last five years, at least, we'd be on the ground at MCO around 8:30 am, a quick Publix stop then on to Board Walk by 10 or so for our DVC ressie. We were in our room before WS was open, got in Soarin' before our liquid breakfast as seen below. No guarantees, and we arrive mid week which may matter but I can't remember the last time we didn't get right in.
