Split Stay - how long is too long in a DVC studio?

I will be staying at WDW for 15 nights from 16 to 31 August using DVC points. I have managed to snag Concierge at AKV for the last 3 nights but I can't decide whether to stay the whole 12 nights at the Grand Floridian (possibly Polynesian as that is also available) or to split it with a skyliner resort - Riviera has most availability. I'm not sure if I will regret moving rooms twice. Has anybody done a triple split stay before and enjoyed it?

Triple splits are hard for some but not for others. It really depends on your travel party size, how heavy you pack/unpack. Also 15 nights is a lot of nights so it can make a triple split more worth it.

I personally hate split stays so 2 moves sounds like a lot of hassle. One isn’t so bad. As for how long is too long in a studio, I guess that depends on how many people and the family dynamics. We usually do 2 bedrooms but we stayed last January in a studio for 15 nights (BRV) and this past January for 15 nights in a Poly studio with 5 people each time, and most people on here would hate that but we were fine with it. Not having in room laundry was the only issue. That obviously wouldn’t work for everyone but for us and our kids it was fine.

Our summer stays have always been about 15 days, and we have done splits starting at CL and then moving to 2 other resorts. We typically do half Epcot, half MK resorts so we can enjoy the perks of being within walking distance to parks while at each. I love split stays & the change of scenery, feels like a different trip - especially over a long period of time. Enjoy!

There will be 3 of us. I initially picked a resort studio in GFV because it has two proper beds rather than one bed and a murphy bed, but it doesn't have a kitchenette. I'm now wondering whether to switch to a Poly studio. I love staying at the Poly but it can get crowded and that gets annoying when you're there for a long time.

In an ideal world I would do a single split half between MK and Epcot resorts, but I don't want to lose the 3 nights concierge and both BWV and BCV went v quickly. I can only grab the odd one or two days mid stay, so not worth swapping.

I've done lots of split stays, splitting between 2 resorts. I did a split stay of 3 resorts, moving twice, on one trip and only once. And after that, I swore that I'd never again do a 3 way split. 12 Nights would tempt me, but probably not so much as for me to do it. My limit is two resorts.

We often do split stays. We usually split between 1 beds and studios and like to vary location. Last month we did 9 nights at RIV in a studio, 4 nights at SSR in a 1 bed and 4 nights at BWV in a 1 bed. We try to make sure each stay is at least 4 night thought we have done 3 in a pinch.

ETA: I like the Poly for you but being that it’s an August trip, the crowded pools concern me.

This is what I'm thinking. One move is ok, two is a pain. But the excitement of trying out a new resort is there, tempting me! I should be happy I managed to get so many nights in the one resort.

I keep going back and forth regarding your question! 15 nights? We would not hesitate to split it with 3 resorts, especially AKV Club. On the other hand, I'm not sure we'd do 3 resorts if only staying in a studio. The laundry gets more complicated, along with any groceries/drinks we might buy to save money over the 2 weeks (which can be stored in a 1BR fridge, but not usually in a studio)! So it's not something we would do, and we're regular split-stayers. But it's definitely doable if you plan something fun for those transition days when you're without a room for 4-5 hours. I think 12 days in the same resort and same room would get stale.

So a definite maybe from us! Sorry!!

I don’t like moving but that is a long time at Grand Flo. It’s lovely! Almost 2 weeks without moving though?

This would be my preference:

Grand Flo - Yellow

Riviera - Blue

AKL - Green

I thought about park access, balancing and taking advantage of locations, best days to move, etc.
