For those of you that have moved to a different resort after your initial first nights stay , what was your feeling? Did you wish you would have stayed at least 2 nights at the resort and then moved?

Im traveling and wont get into dworld uNtil the evening so im thinking of staying in the wilderness lodge the initial evening and then moving to the poly the next day. Should i extend my wilderness lodge stay to 2 or maybe 3 nights? Thanks!

you don't in one night really get to experience the resort - both wl and polyn are great places.

that say would go for bc or bwv - since you are going to the polyn. so you get a completely different area as well as resort.

walking to epcot and studios (or boats) is pretty great.

I've done it several times and don't regret it. But I think it depends on why you only want to stay at a resort for 1 night.

Love both WL and Poly.

Good luck!

We've done this twice - once was one night at SSR before moving to Poly. That was because we were able to change our flight at the last minute to get in a day earlier but there was no availability at Poly to add on. We got in mid-afternoon and it was enough time to check out a bit of the resort, walk to DTD etc. We got a really great rate on the room too.

The second time was a night at POFQ before a week at GF CL. We were getting in later in the day and I wanted to save a little money since we wouldn't really have much time in the day to enjoy the amenities of GF. We'd stayed at FQ a couple of times before so it was really just a place to sleep that time around.

So we didn't regret it either time as we had specific reasons for the one night split. If we were doing it to experience another resort, I'd probably want more than one night.

We've done it twice, but we've stayed at values for the first night both times before moving to the CR. For us, it made sense financially so we did it as a money saver.

You don't say how many total nights the trip is, but we stayed 2 nights prior to changing resorts once (with the 2nd resort for 4 nights) and for us it wasn't worth it. We arrived in the evening our first night and by the time we knew it, it was time to change resorts. Then, once we were just feeling settled at the 2nd resort, it was time to pack up and fly home. Everyone's preference is different, but we wouldn't do it again for such a short trip.

Why bother if you don't have to :confused3, unless you needed a larger room etc.
a lot of people do it, for us we did it once, not worth the hassle.

I do it often. If I'm only doing one night on arrival day because I'm flying in late, I do a value resort. I can't see spending the $$ for a deluxe just to sleep and move.

If I do a deluxe/deluxe split, I stay for more than one night.

Assuming you are flying in, perhaps stay at the MCO Hyatt that first night?

This. We will stay at Pop arrival day if we are arriving late, or planning on a lot of off site stuff and just not going to be around that day. Why pay deluxe if you aren't going to be there to enjoy.

So for our upcoming trip we have Pop first night, then moving to GF for 2 nights, cause we want to experience GF, never stayed there, then moving to YC for 12 nights.

I think if you want to experience anything of a resort you need min 2 nights.

We already had a 4 way split stay planned at WL/Poly/AKL/BC over 12 nights.

We are coming in from the west coast and want to do HDDR on our first night at WL. The next morning, I'm planning a 7:15 ADR at Chef Mickey's so we can make it over to MK in time for the RD show.

Given those constraints, I decided that we needed two nights to adjust to the time change before checking into WL.

Originally, I planned to just spend those nights at the Hampton Inn near MCO.

But I've recently decided on POR instead. That way, we can use DME to skip baggage claim and can also take the boat over to DTD on our "adjustment day."

So our four way split over 12 nights has morphed into a five way split over 14 nights.
